... Read moreMany of us, myself included, have experienced the pressure to maintain a certain image in our faith communities. It's often easier to present a polished front than to reveal our struggles or doubts, but doing so can lead to a deep sense of isolation and unrest. The truth is, God values honesty more than performance. When I started letting go of the need to appear perfect and instead began sharing my real self—including my weaknesses and struggles—I found a new level of peace and connection with God. This journey isn't easy because society often equates faith with flawless behavior, but this perspective can create a 'reputation prison' that confines us. The Bible passage from 1 John 1:8-9 reminds us that admitting our imperfections and confessing our sins brings forgiveness and purification, not condemnation. Embracing this truth frees us from the exhausting game of appearances. Living authentically also impacts how we relate to others. When we stop hiding behind an image, we invite deeper, more genuine relationships that foster mutual support and growth. I’ve noticed that communities embracing vulnerability tend to thrive spiritually because members feel safe to be real and receive encouragement. If you're feeling weighed down by the pressure to look right or act perfect, consider this a gentle call to surrender that image-based faith. Start by being honest with God in prayer, asking for deliverance from the need to perform and for the grace to live genuinely. Protecting your relationship with God means prioritizing truth and vulnerability over external approval. This shift has the power to transform your faith journey into one marked by freedom, authenticity, and deeper intimacy with God.

Most people don’t realize this…
Having life insurance through work is NOT enough. (Please don’t yell at me 😂) But seriously — most people don’t realize: Your coverage usually ends when your job ends. Job change? Gone. Layoff? Gone. Health changes later? You may not qualify the same. I’ll say it louder for the people
