Practice making baby food with me 🍉🥑🍌

Hi Mamas! I bought a baby food blender for fun just to practice making baby purées! Even though our girl won’t be eating purées until she’s about 6 months + in the future, I went ahead and did some research of my own & I thought it would be fun just to practice now since I already have the blender! I didn’t realize how much joy it would bring me just to make my first purée as a first time mom.. but this kind of thing makes me so excited to be her mama and make her food for her when that time comes!! 🥹 So fun in my opinion 💓 I can’t wait! So much to look forward to! Today I puréed steamed beats + peas! It’s actually so simple. All you have to do is steam the veggies or fruits you plan to purée, (with no additives) then add them to your blender with 2-3 tbs of breast milk, baby formula, or water. Then you either place them into a refrigerator safe container for up to 2-3 days fresh, or freeze them in a freezer safe container for up to 3 months! (Thawing out in the fridge when you’re wanting to use them)! Very simple!

There is no right or wrong when it comes to either buying your baby food OR making it, but I just personally found this super fun! I think fed is best! so whatever you find best for your baby whether it be breast milk or formula, store bought or homemade, your baby is being fed, and that’s what truly matters!

I hope this can be encouraging and helpful to any other first time mamas out there too! And I’d love to hear any suggestions in the comments as well!! Let’s connect ❤️☺️ all love to you all!

... Read moreMaking homemade baby food is a wonderful way for parents to bond with their little ones while ensuring they receive healthy nutrition. When introducing solids, it’s essential to follow guidelines such as the "4-day wait" rule, which suggests introducing one new food at a time and waiting four days before trying another. This practice helps monitor for any potential allergic reactions. Popular first foods include introduced vegetables like carrots, peas, and sweet potatoes, alongside fruits such as avocados and bananas. Consider steaming these foods to retain nutrients and create smoother textures suitable for babies who are just starting on solid foods. Another tip is to add breast milk or formula to purées to enhance flavor and ensure creamy consistency when your baby makes the transition from liquids to solids. The variety of flavors you can introduce can also contribute to a well-rounded palate for your child as they grow. Many parents find that making food in bulk and freezing portions makes mealtime easier and saves time during busy days. A good freezer-safe container can keep purées stored for up to three months, allowing for quick meal options when needed. Embarking on the journey of making homemade baby food can be fulfilling and fun. It also empowers parents to take control over what goes into their baby's diet while creating cherished moments through cooking at home. So gather your ingredients, blend those purées, and enjoy this exciting stage of parenting!

The image introduces "Somatic Awareness: Listening to the Body's Wisdom" with questions about its definition and practice, set against a backdrop of dark water with green lily pads and white water lilies.
This image defines somatic awareness as listening to the body's felt sense for healing trauma, emphasizing restoring inner safety and reconnecting with the body through sensation, breath, and presence.
The image explains how shifting awareness to bodily sensations regulates the nervous system by engaging specific brain areas, and advises to "feel, name, witness" when triggered for presence without force.
What is somatic awareness & how do we practice it?
Your body holds ancient wisdom. It’s not broken—it’s speaking. Somatic awareness isn’t about fixing… it’s about listening. When you tune into sensation, you shift from survival to sovereignty. Feel. 🌀 Name. 🌀 Witness. 🌀 This is nervous system healing. This is the path home. #somatichealing
