A Letter To Myself 🫶

Hey everyone! Inspired by my own journey of reflection, I wanted to share a little more about why writing a "letter to myself" can be such a powerful tool. It's not just a fleeting thought, but a tangible way to connect with your inner self, to truly 'remind myself who i am' when life gets a bit hazy. I've found that penning a short letter to myself (or a long one!) helps me pause, take stock, and really listen to my own voice. It’s like having a heart-to-heart with your best friend – who happens to be you! It brings clarity, offers a boost of self-compassion, and acts as a beautiful anchor during uncertain times. When I write, I can be completely honest, without judgment, about my struggles and my triumphs. What do I put in these letters? Sometimes it's a simple 'Dear me,' acknowledging where I am right now. Other times, I focus on gratitude – 'Be grateful for the things you have.' It’s easy to forget the blessings amidst daily challenges. I also love to remind myself to 'Be proud of yourself.' We often downplay our achievements, so actively celebrating them, even the small wins, is crucial. Remember, 'You are a sparkling star' and 'You are your own rainbow.' These are phrases I sometimes write to myself, affirming my unique light and ability to create my own happiness. It's not about perfect grammar or profound insights every time. It's about the act of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and letting those thoughts flow, just as I mentioned in my initial post. It helps me trust the process, understand my growth, and acknowledge my healing journey. I might ask myself, 'What have I learned lately?' or 'What do I need to let go of?' Sometimes it's a future-focused message, setting intentions or offering encouragement for what's ahead. Other times, it’s a gentle reminder to 'Celebrate yourself as always,' no matter what. You don't need a special occasion. You can write a letter to your past self, your present self, or your future self. It can be a daily journal entry, a weekly check-in, or just when you feel the need for some self-connection. I keep mine somewhere private, and occasionally, I'll reread old letters. It’s amazing to see how far I’ve come, the lessons I’ve learned, and how much my perspective has evolved. It truly helps 'remind myself who i am' and that I'm always growing, always evolving.
