Regularly trimming your hair every 2-3 months helps to remove split ends, preventing damage from traveling up the hair shaft, which can impede healthy growth. This simple maintenance step encourages stronger and smoother hair over time. When washing your hair, opting for cold water instead of hot water can dramatically reduce hair breakage and dryness. Hot water tends to strip natural oils, leaving hair dehydrated, whereas cold water helps to seal the hair cuticles, enhancing shine and moisture retention. Protecting your hair while sleeping is another critical aspect. Using satin or silk pillowcases or wearing bonnets reduces frizz and breakage caused by friction with rougher fabrics like cotton. The use of nourishing hair oils, such as those from trusted brands like Olaplex, can supply essential moisture and strengthen strands.
