Items I actually used as a first time mom

When I started making my baby registry for my shower, I felt endlessly overwhelmed by everything I thought we were supposed to have. My husband told me “you don’t have to overthink it”, but naturally that’s ALL I could do. I spent hours and hours pouring over videos of expensive baby things that I was suddenly convinced I had to have. Hundreds of dollars for a changing table pad, thousands for a stroller, and whatever else influencers thought I needed to spend more money on. However, I couldn’t spend that kind of money on baby items and neither could my family. And honestly, I’m glad I didn’t. I wouldn’t have used it all!

Some things I didn’t put on this list that I obviously did end up getting as well:

✨ Car seat

✨ Hand-me-down changing pad

✨ Crib

✨ Burp cloths

✨ $20 baby bath

✨ Baby towels/wash cloths

✨ Baby lotion, body wash, and shampoo

But, these are some of the things I’ve used exclusively after becoming a new mom. #momlifehacks #momhacks #momfinds #ftmessentials #FTM

... Read moreAs a new mom, selecting the right baby products can be daunting. I initially found myself overwhelmed by influencer recommendations, leading me to compile an extensive registry filled with overpriced items. However, after going through the experience, I've realized that practicality is vital. Among the items I genuinely found indispensable were a reliable digital thermometer for monitoring my baby's health, sleep sack or swaddle to keep my little one cozy, and a baby monitor to ensure peace of mind. These tools not only helped in everyday routines but also facilitated a better understanding of my baby's needs. I also discovered the genuine value of pediatrician-recommended gas drops, which alleviated discomfort during those fussy moments. For on-the-go convenience, the formula-to-go container proved invaluable, allowing me to feed my baby anytime, anywhere, without the hassle of extra preparation. Additionally, a portable sound machine worked wonders in helping my baby fall asleep in various environments, making outings much more manageable. Investing in items that serve practical purposes is key; instead of succumbing to costly cosleepers or elaborate changing tables, I found multifunctional products that saved both space and money. Embracing simplicity and functionality has transformed my parenting experience, and I hope these insights assist other first-time moms in their journeys.
