These bodywash beauties are from the Hempz line. I love their lotions but have been curious about their bodywashes. Although I invest in a variety of bodywashes, I'm hesitant about spending $15+ on a wash that is not used as a treatment wash....but when I can find them on sale or clearance, I'll try them out. I found the original and coconut wash on clearance at Ulta for $5.00 and the sugared banana and raspberry wash for $9.99 at TJMaxx.
My review: very fragrant, silky, and hydrating for normal skin. My favorite of the four above are the original and sugared banana, and I would consider for repurchase. The coconut and raspberry are just okay. In my opinion, these bodywashes are worth it for the sale price and a steal for the clearance price, but I personally would pass on regular price.
So, if you're curious, "Keep a look out" on Ulta's clearance aisle and in TJMaxx.
... Read moreOkay, so you've heard my initial thoughts on Hempz body washes, but let's dive even deeper into why these fun finds from Ulta and TJMaxx became part of my shower routine (at least temporarily!). When I say these body washes are 'silky,' I really mean it. From the moment the gel hits your loofah, it creates a rich, creamy lather that feels incredibly luxurious. It’s not one of those thin, watery washes; this one truly feels like it’s pampering your skin.
And for hydration? My skin, which tends to be on the normal side, felt noticeably soft and not stripped after rinsing. There was no tight, dry feeling, which is a huge win for me, especially when trying new body care products. It leaves behind a subtle, soft finish, making it perfect for those days when you just want a comfortable, clean feeling without needing to slather on lotion immediately.
Now, let's talk about the fragrances, because that's a major draw for Hempz! The Original Floral Banana scent, which was one of my top picks, is surprisingly sophisticated. It’s not an overly sweet, artificial banana. Instead, it’s a beautiful blend that’s fresh, slightly tropical, and distinctly unique. It truly brightens up my morning shower. Then there's Sugared Banana & Vanilla Blossom – this one is a bit sweeter, as the name suggests, but the vanilla blossom adds a creamy, comforting depth that balances the banana beautifully. It’s like a warm, sweet hug in the shower, and the scent lingers subtly for a while after.
The Tropical Coconut was pleasant enough, giving off those vacation vibes with a classic coconut aroma. It’s a good choice if you're a fan of straightforward, summery scents. While the article mentioned 'Raspberry,' I've since tried another Hempz scent, Pomegranate, which I found to be quite vibrant and fruity, a nice tart-sweet balance that was a step up from the 'just okay' category for me. It's always interesting how different scents can create such varied experiences!
So, about the 'worth it' factor. At full price, these can run upwards of $15, which, for a non-treatment body wash, feels a bit steep for my budget. However, finding them on clearance for $5 or even $9.99? Absolute game-changer! My biggest tip for scoring these deals is to keep a sharp eye on the clearance aisles at Ulta, especially after major sales events or seasonal transitions. TJMaxx and Marshalls are also treasure troves for discounted high-end body care – their stock rotates constantly, so frequent visits pay off. You never know what gems you might find!
These body washes are definitely for anyone with normal skin who appreciates a good lather and a lingering, enjoyable fragrance. If you love variety in your shower routine and aren't afraid to hunt for a bargain, Hempz could be your next favorite. Just remember, a little product goes a long way, so these bottles actually last quite a while, even with daily use. Happy hunting, and enjoy that fragrant, silky cleanse!
I think they may be priced liked that because their lotion is popular..that was a crazy clearance price, great find!
