Does anyone else feel like this?

Is anyone else in the same boat?? 🙋‍♀️

Fridge organizers to me seem like the height of overconsumption on organizing products. They are so not needed and can sometimes add to the clutter of a fridge.

Fridges have literally already been made to separate certain types of food from each other. They have drawers and shelves just for this reason! You don’t need to have your eggs in a separate acrylic container. And your drinks don’t need to roll out whenever you use one.

How to organize a fridge without products:

✨1. Decide what foods will fit best on which shelves of drawers.

✨2. For drinks just put the back stock ones behind the first ones. As well as for other food.

✨3. Make sure you can see things and don’t just “shove food into the back. It will get lost there and never used.

✨4. Clean your fridge out of expired food monthly! You need to have the room from food you didn’t use and be able to know what you need to buy!

I know I don’t have a ton in my fridge. But we always use that is in it and I know exactly what I need to buy from the store. And that saves us a lot of time and money 🎉

... Read moreFridge organization can often feel overwhelming, yet many of us overlook simple strategies that reduce clutter without the need for expensive storage solutions. It's essential to recognize that most fridges already have built-in compartments designed to keep different food types separate. Instead of falling into the trap of purchasing trendy fridge organizers, consider an approach that embraces the natural structure of your appliance. To maintain an organized fridge, start by assessing which items best fit on each shelf or in drawers based on their size and usage frequency. For instance, larger items like pitchers or juice containers should be placed on lower shelves, while smaller essentials like dressings or condiments can be stored at eye level for easy access. This layout not only promotes visibility but also encourages a more intuitive system for everyday use. Next, focus on visibility to avoid the common pitfall of losing food items to the back of the fridge. To address this, group similar items together and rotate stock regularly. For example, when adding new drinks, position older ones at the front to ensure they are consumed first. This practice helps minimize waste and saves you money over time. Moreover, setting a monthly schedule to check for expired or unused food can significantly reduce clutter and make room for fresh items. Lastly, maintaining an organized fridge should be paired with mindful shopping habits. Keep track of what you have and what you need, fostering a sustainable approach to both your food storage and consumption habits. Engaging in these practices not only enhances your fridge's functionality but also creates a more efficient and enjoyable cooking experience.

I get cheap ones from target and dollar tree and use them to set aside ingredients I’m gonna use for meals during the week—that way I don’t have to think and my partner doesn’t accidentally eat something that was meant to be part of a meal. Also if I have a recipe I’m gonna be using I can print it and pop it in the container too

I love fridge organizers, but not for the packaged food only for the chopped up fruits and veggies because no one wants to chop stuff every single time you wanna get a snack out of the fridge.
