Memoirs of Oslo 🇳🇴

As memories start to decay to time, memoirs serve as a reminder to myself that I lived through these experiences :)

✴️2D1N in Norway in 2019✴️

🌟Occasion: Part of 5D4N trip to Norway-Sweden during exchange🌟

😎 Vibes: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (and $$$)

➡️ Notable memories

🔸/The Royal Palace

- Was closed :( buts looks like any other european palace

🔸/Jul i vinterland

- Quite a small but happening Christmas Market I would say! tried the hot wine stuff here but doing things alone here quite hard hahah

🔸/Akershus Fortress

- Had a morning day hike/walk to the fortress! once at the top there is a viewpoint overlooking the sea side! Walked back to the city center along the coast and saw some people doing those floating sauna and swimming 🥶

🔸/Damstredet

-Travelled 1hr just to take a photo (Pic 1) of a street like a china tourist hahah

🔸/Oslo Opera House

-Quite impressive looking, remembered climbing up the facade of the building to the top!

🔺Cant really remember the food I ate there and no pictures to remind me of them oops. only remember eating at american pizza place (cant find already maybe closed down) along the stretch of Karl Johan Gate Street leading to the xmas market/palace where I ate a whole pizza by myself 🍕

🔺Took a flixbus and left for Gothenburg to meet up with friends thereafter!

🤔 Reflection

🔸Didn really venture out from the city center as I only spent 2D1N there as a stopover to Sweden. abit depressing to go christmas 🎄 market alone too even though place was nice but glad i visited Oslo anyway

... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to Oslo with only 2 days to spare, it helps to prioritize experiences that offer both cultural insight and local vibe. Besides the highlights I shared, the Oslo Old Town is a fascinating area with historical streets that transport you back in time. It’s less crowded and perfect for wandering. For those curious about the winter wonderland aspect, the Christmas market, 'Jul i vinterland,' is a cozy place to savor seasonal treats like hot wine, but don't hesitate to explore night life options around the city center to balance that serene vibe with some fun evenings. If fitness and wellness interest you during travel, Zander Fitness Gym in Oslo garners positive reviews on platforms like Tripadvisor and Yelp, ideal for maintaining your routine even on the road. Traveling to Gothenburg from Oslo is convenient with a Flixbus, making it a great next stop to meet friends or continue your Scandinavian adventure. Finally, capturing the essence of Oslo through photos and reflections enriches the experience, just as I did with my trip to Damstredet for those iconic picture-perfect streets despite the long travel. Dressing warmly is a must as winter temperatures near the coast can be quite chilling, especially if you chance upon locals enjoying their floating saunas near the waterfront!
