What’s your Favorite devices to Read On?🌸

What are your Favorite devices to read books on and what are your favorite must have accessories.

I have 3 Favorites

*Iphone 11 Pro max

I had a spare iPhone laying around and a spare Sims card so I can have data when I’m on the go. it has 256gb with a clear case and a magnetic pop socket on the back and this is going to sound funny but it works for me. I have 2 screen protectors on it one is a Bluelight blocking with built-in privacy protector and the other one is a Matte paper feel like screen protector helps with the glare on the screen. And the only reason why I have two of them on is because every single time I looked for a mat screen protector that had the blue light blocking with the built-in privacy. The ones they would send was not either Matte or they did not have the built-in privacy. So I opted for the two because I had them on hand. (You do not have to have two of them this is just want works for me) Cons: I wish the battery lasted long like the Kindle

*Ipad Mini 6

My IPad mini 6 has 256gb with cellular data as well only because at the time I got my iPad mini we had no home internet because the service was really bad where we lived at the time. It has a clear back cover with a cute pink and Blue screen cover with books on it also I have a Matte screen protector and an Apple Pencil Dupe from Amazon.

I have broken a few Apple Pencil’s and I did not feel like spending another hundred dollars on another one so I got the alternative works just like the Apple Pencil feels like the Apple Pencil and so much cheaper. I like it for when I just want a bigger screen than the IPhone. Also I love the IPad and IPhone because I can have the phone and iPad read the books to me with out paying extra for the audiobooks. Cons: again I wish the battery lasted long like the Kindle

Then lastly I have a

*Kindle signature edition 32gb

I love this one because when I’m reading for long periods of time I don’t get headaches and my Eyes don’t hurt like they do with the IPhone and IPad mini. Love the long battery life as well.

Cons: What I don’t like about it is I wish it could read the books to me like my other two can and I also wish it had cellular data on it so I can download books with out having WiFi but that’s not to big of a deal. I have a plan black cover for it from Amazon and also a matte screen protector.

... Read moreSince I've shared my personal picks for reading devices, let's dive a bit deeper into how I make my Apple devices — my trusty iPhone and iPad Mini — the ultimate reading companions, especially when I'm diving into captivating stories like 'BRAVING SAVAGE KINGS' or 'RUTHLESS LOVER ETERNAL SAVAGE.' It’s not just about the hardware; it’s about optimizing the experience to rival even my beloved Kindle. First off, the app ecosystem on Apple devices is a huge plus. While I love the built-in text-to-speech for audiobooks without extra cost, the variety of reading apps available is incredible. Apple Books is fantastic for its clean interface and seamless integration across all my Apple gadgets, keeping my place exactly where I left off. But I also frequently use the Kindle app – yes, even though I own a physical Kindle! This is because it gives me access to Amazon’s vast library and allows me to pick up books I started on my Kindle, right on my iPhone or iPad, perfect for when I’m out and about without my e-reader. For library loans, Libby is an absolute lifesaver, allowing me to borrow eBooks and audiobooks directly to my device. The convenience of having all these options in one place is unmatched. Speaking of eye comfort, a common concern with backlit screens compared to e-ink, I've found several ways to make reading on my Apple devices much more pleasant. Beyond my dual screen protectors (which, let's be honest, is a bit unconventional but works for me!), I always utilize features like Night Shift, which automatically adjusts screen colors to warmer tones in the evening, reducing blue light exposure. Dark Mode is another game-changer, especially for late-night reading sessions, as it inverts the color scheme, making text light on a dark background – so much easier on the eyes. Adjusting the font size and style within reading apps is also crucial. I find certain fonts less straining, and being able to bump up the size means less squinting. Sometimes, a quick adjustment to the display's True Tone setting can also make a subtle but significant difference in how the screen adapts to ambient light. Battery life is always a hot topic, especially when comparing Apple devices to a Kindle. While my Kindle undoubtedly wins in endurance, I've learned a few tricks to extend my iPhone and iPad's battery while reading. Lowering screen brightness to the comfortable minimum is the easiest win. Turning off Wi-Fi or cellular data if I've already downloaded my books can also save a surprising amount of power. I also make sure to close other background apps that might be silently draining my battery. For long reading sessions, having a portable power bank, even a small one, is a non-negotiable accessory for my Apple reading setup. The versatility of using an Apple device for reading is truly what sets it apart for me. While the Kindle is a dedicated reading machine, my iPhone and iPad Mini serve multiple purposes. I can instantly switch from reading a thrilling chapter to looking up a word, researching an author, or even discussing a plot twist with friends online. The vibrant, high-resolution screens also make reading graphic novels, illustrated children's books, or even complex technical diagrams a far superior experience compared to an e-ink display. For those who want one device that does it all – from productivity to entertainment and, of course, immersive reading – optimizing an Apple device truly offers a comprehensive solution. It’s about finding the right balance of apps, settings, and habits to create your perfect portable library.
