Favorite dairy free milks!

Diamond simple 2/5 ⭐️- this separates horribly in any drink or just by itself. For the price there are much better options out there. It also has a very strong almond flavor and clumps in coffee

Califia organic 5/5 ⭐️- my go to. You can never go wrong with this brand. Clean ingredients and affordable. Has a slight nutty flavor but nothing too crazy.

Dream rice milk 4/5⭐️- if you love making horchata and want a simpler way this tasted amazing with it. Quick and easy to infuse spices into. Wasn’t a huge fan of it by itself.

Silk protein 4/5 ⭐️- if you NEED extra protein this is a good option but there are definitely better alternatives out there and for the price point. I prefer the chocolate version of it better. It’s like a sweet treat but can be a little thin.

... Read moreHaving tried various dairy-free milk alternatives myself, I've found that choosing the right one depends a lot on your personal preferences and how you plan to use it. For example, almond milk can vary widely in flavor and texture. The Diamond Simple brand tends to separate quickly and has a strong almond taste, which might not blend well in coffee or baking. In contrast, Califia Organic stands out for its smooth texture and mild nutty flavor, making it an excellent all-around choice especially for coffee or cereal. For those who enjoy making traditional drinks like horchata, rice milk such as Dream's is wonderful because it easily absorbs infused spices, giving you that authentic taste in a much simpler form. However, drinking it plain may not appeal to everyone due to its natural sweetness and texture. If protein content is important in your diet, Silk Protein milk can be a good pick, particularly the chocolate variety which feels more like a treat. However, it is thinner than dairy milk and slightly sweet, so it might not suit cooking needs that require thicker liquids. When shopping at Walmart or grocery stores, looking at the nutritional facts helps a lot. For instance, many almond milks have about 30-80 calories per serving and vary in sugar content — some include added sugars while others are unsweetened. Checking calcium, vitamin D, and protein levels is also crucial if you're using these as dairy substitutes. In summary, the best dairy-free milk for you depends on taste, texture, nutrition, and how you'll use it in recipes or beverages. Experimenting with different brands like Califia Organic for everyday use, Dream Rice Milk for special recipes, and Silk Protein for an added protein boost has helped me find my favorites. Always read labels carefully, as plant-based milks can differ significantly in ingredients and nutritional benefits depending on the brand and type.
