1. exposing myself to different realities
Bali. Mexico. 5 star resorts for fraction of the price. Your nervous system can't want what it's never seen. I needed evidence before I could believe it was possible for me. This is what gave me the confidence to finally start my business and coach women.
2. journaling instead of trauma dumping on my friends
I used to call 5 people, get 5 opinions and STILL not trust my own feelings 😅 Now I process it first. If I still want to talk after? I'm coming calm not leaking everywhere pushing people away from Tasmanian devil energy
3. flipping the script on boundaries
Stopped asking "will they like me" and started asking "do I even like THEIR energy." That one shift changed everything. Instead of auditioning and performing i let myself BE.
4. eating and drinking intentionally
Sipping my coffee slowly. Actually tasting it. A tense body deprioritizes digestion AND weight release. Slowing down tells your nervous system you're safe. Safe bodies let go.
5. saying the uncomfortable thing instead of swallowing it
Scary in the moment. But you stop carrying it. And that weight? It was never yours to hold. Avoidance is easy but it costs you, trust me. I got sick of paying.

Regulating the nervous system effectively often requires more than trendy quick fixes—it’s about meaningful lifestyle shifts that reinforce your sense of safety and personal power. From my experience, one of the most powerful yet underrated methods is intentionally exposing yourself to different realities. Traveling to new places or even immersing yourself digitally in unfamiliar cultures can rewire your brain to expect and accept abundance and joy. It’s like giving your nervous system proof that greater happiness is possible, which reduces chronic stress and helps you move forward in life. Another game-changer is transforming how you handle emotional processing. Instead of endlessly seeking validation from others, journaling allows you to dialogue with yourself first. When you write your thoughts down, you create an internal safe space to sort through feelings without overwhelming others or yourself. This practice not only nurtures self-trust but also prevents emotional burnout and improves relationships. The mindset shift in setting boundaries from “Will they like me?” to “Do I like their energy?” was key in my journey. This simple question stops you from performing or people-pleasing and encourages authentic connections. It also lowers anxiety by reducing the pressure you place on yourself to be accepted, which can be a chronic drain on the nervous system. Eating and drinking with intention is another underrated tool. Slowing down to savor a meal or drink signals your nervous system that you are safe—not rushing through meals allows digestion and metabolic processes to work optimally, supporting physical and emotional well-being. I found that this slow, mindful practice helps reduce tension and promotes a sense of calm presence throughout the day. Lastly, learning to voice uncomfortable truths instead of swallowing them is liberating. Although it feels scary initially, expressing your feelings lightens the emotional load you carry and builds resilience. Avoidance may seem easier in the short-term, but it costs you in prolonged stress and disconnection from yourself and others. In essence, nervous system regulation is not about quick hacks but cultivating compassionate, intentional daily choices that honor your well-being. By adopting these unusual yet practical approaches, you create space for your nervous system to reset, thrive, and draw in the wealth, happiness, and love you deserve.
