Inside, the lamp’s keepers sit around a heavy wooden table. Each of them are exiles. Broken souls, sentenced—often by themselves—to keep the lamp lit. To pass the time, they play cards, mend their many tools, and drink cheap whiskey from tin cups.
Tonight is like any other night. The keepers drink. They listen to the storm outside the walls, and wait for a knock on the lighthouse door. An impossible knock. A guest who has arrived with no boat and no warning except for the whispering of its name by the storm…
THE BLACK LAMP is a horror roleplaying game where you and your friends play lighthouse keepers trying desperately to keep the lamp lit while a malevolent entity does its best to drive you to madness all during a game of high-stakes Texas Hold'em.
