Who doesn’t love a good iced tea! Especially when it’s great for your gut health! Here is what you’ll need to make the tea! Fresh lemons, lemon & ginger tea bags, strawberry Hibiscus, tea bags, sugar of choice, ice, cup of choice, and pot or tea kettle. I make my tea in bulk and store it in the fridge for later.
🧉Step 1: Bring 4L of water to a boil and turn off burner when tea bags are ready to go.
🧉Step 2: Place 2 Lemon & Ginger and 2 Strawberry Habiscus tea bags into the water for 5 min.
🧉 Step 3: When time goes off, remove tea bags and let tea get cold. (Sometimes I transfer it to the fridge for faster cooking).
🧉 Step 4: After tea is cool pour it into chosen storage container. Preferably one that’s easy to pour out of.
🧉 Step 5: When you want some tea… Fill a cup half way with water, squeeze half a lemon into water, fill cup almost to the top with tea. Slice some lemon garnish and add choice of sugar. Add ice.
🧉 Step 6: Enjoy! Be careful, this tea is for gut health. An excess amount could cause stomach pain or diarrhea.
... Read moreI absolutely adore a good iced tea, especially when it packs a punch for my gut health! My go-to is this incredible iced hibiscus tea with lemon and ginger. It's not just delicious and super refreshing, but it feels like a little treat for my digestive system. If you're looking to elevate your summer sips, this is definitely one to try.
What makes this iced hibiscus tea with lemon and ginger so special, beyond just tasting amazing? It's all about the synergy of the ingredients. Hibiscus is known for its antioxidant properties and can support healthy blood pressure. When I combine it with the vibrant kick of fresh lemon, I'm adding a dose of Vitamin C and digestive aid. And let's not forget ginger – it's a superstar for soothing the stomach and reducing inflammation, making it a powerful ally for gut health. This isn't just a drink; it's truly a summer gut health tea that I look forward to every day.
Making a big batch of this iced hibiscus tea is a game-changer for me. I usually steep two lemon ginger and two strawberry hibiscus tea bags in a pot, just as the recipe suggests. Once it cools down, I pour it into a clear pitcher and pop it in the fridge. Having it ready to go means I can quickly whip up a glass whenever I need a pick-me-up. I often add extra fresh lemons to my glass, which brightens the flavor even more and makes it look so appealing – perfect for those *summer vibes*!
Now, a little word of caution from my own experience: while this tea is fantastic for gut health, it's important to listen to your body. The recipe notes that an excess amount could cause stomach pain or diarrhea, and I've found that moderation is key for me. I enjoy a glass or two throughout the day, but I wouldn't overdo it. Everyone's digestive system is different, so it's always best to start slow and see how you feel. It's about finding that sweet spot where you get all the benefits without any discomfort.
Beyond just drinking it, I sometimes get creative with this *iced hibiscus tea*. On extra hot days, I’ve poured it into popsicle molds for a healthy, cooling treat. You can also experiment with different sweeteners if sugar isn't your preference – a touch of honey or maple syrup can work beautifully. Sometimes, I'll even muddle a few fresh mint leaves at the bottom of my glass before adding the tea for an extra layer of freshness. It’s such a versatile drink, and it truly makes me feel good from the inside out.
