Goodwill Jackpot for Crocheter!

Just won the lottery at my local goodwill!

Found a tub full of yarn for $5 a bag! Most of the yarn is u touched and still in the original wrapping from the same lot and some also discontinued! I couldn’t be happier than to share with you how beautiful these yarns are the color and the blends are something you don’t find in your everyday craft store. This is a crocheters’ dream yarn find! I racked up about $200 worth of yarn for $10! #yarn #Haul #thrift #goodwill #crochet

... Read moreFinding high-quality yarn at thrift stores like Goodwill can be an absolute jackpot for crochet enthusiasts and crafters on a budget. This recent haul featuring brands like MAMAN, LineaPura, and SMC Erlzon shows just how rewarding thrifting can be when you keep an eye out for discontinued yarn lines and unique blends of fibers. Many of these yarns are still in their original packaging, which not only preserves their quality but also adds to the collectible value. For instance, MAMAN yarns are known for their vibrant colors and soft acrylic blends, making them perfect for cozy crochet projects. Getting 11 skeins of Italian yarn that normally retail for $15.95 each at such a fraction of the cost is a rare find. When shopping for yarn at thrift shops, it's helpful to know the key characteristics to look for: fiber content, yardage, and brand reputation. Yarn with natural fibers or quality synthetic blends can have different textures and durability, impacting your finished project’s look and feel. Also, discontinued brands may offer colors and blends not found in current stores, allowing for truly unique handmade items. To replicate this kind of successful haul, consistently monitor thrift stores like Goodwill for new shipments, and don’t hesitate to pick up yarn bags even if you don’t have immediate plans for them. Sharing these finds on crafting forums and social media can also connect you with others who appreciate these unique yarns and can offer project inspiration. In summary, a $5 bag can sometimes be worth hundreds in retail yarn value, especially with gems like the MAMAN edition or Italian LineaPura yarns. This highlights the joy of thrifting for creatives: discovering beautiful, high-quality yarn for pennies on the dollar, sparking creativity while saving money. Happy crocheting and thrift hunting!
