Packing for a trip, especially one to a beautiful place like Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in Tennessee, is always half the fun! My goal was to fit everything I needed for April 19-22nd without overpacking, and I think I nailed it! First off, I always start by laying out all my outfits. For this Tennessee trip, I knew I'd need versatility. The OCR mentioned I packed plenty of denim shorts, jeans, and sneakers, which are perfect staples. Mid-April in the Smokies can be unpredictable – cool mornings, warm afternoons, and chilly evenings. So, having both shorts and jeans allows me to layer and adapt. I planned a few comfy t-shirts, a couple of blouses for dinner out, and a light cardigan for those cooler moments. Rolling clothes tightly is a game-changer for saving space and preventing wrinkles – plus, it just looks neater in the suitcase! Next up, my absolute favorite part: organizing all the small essentials in cute bags! My light blue patterned cosmetic bag was perfect for all my skincare and hair products. I love using travel-sized bottles for my go-to skincare, perfume, and lotions. It avoids spills and saves so much space. I also made sure to include my toothbrush/toothpaste and my favorite hair care products like shampoo and conditioner, along with my trusty black hairbrush. Having dedicated bags makes finding things so much easier once you arrive. The black velvet-like pouch with a gold zipper was ideal for my makeup items, keeping everything secure and chic. Considering the activities in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, I accounted for walking around the towns, maybe a light hike, and definitely some delicious meals. My sneakers are a must for comfort, and a pair of nicer sandals or flats can easily be tucked in for evenings. I also packed a small, foldable tote bag inside my suitcase – super handy for souvenirs or extra shopping! When you're aiming for an 'aesthetic suitcase,' it's not just about what's inside, but how it's arranged. Think about color coordination when possible, even if it's just similar tones. It creates a cohesive look. Also, packing cubes have been a lifesaver for me; they compress clothes and keep different categories separate. This ensures my denim shorts don't get mixed up with my pajamas! Finally, don't forget your personal item for the flight or car ride! Mine usually contains my phone, charger, a book, headphones, and any essential medications. It keeps everything I need accessible without having to dig through my main bag.
