Propagating peace lily

Get out and propagate!
I've found propagating peace lilies to be a rewarding and accessible way to expand my plant collection without additional cost. The key lies in identifying the small nodes or offsets that grow beside the main plant. These nodes can be gently separated — as the video points out — and potted separately to grow new plants. One useful tip is to select healthy offsets with visible roots if possible, though some people have success even starting with just the stem nodes. I usually wait until the offset has at least a few leaves and a bit of root growth before transplanting it to its own pot. This helps ensure better survival rates. A big advantage of propagating peace lilies is that you can propagate multiple plants from one mature specimen. I’ve noticed that the mother plant continues to thrive even after removing some offsets. I keep the separated plants in a warm, humid spot with indirect light to give them the best chance of growing strong. Additionally, this method ties well into aquaponics setups, where peace lilies can thrive and contribute to water purification while being propagated for further use. For anyone with peace lilies at home, propagation is definitely worth trying before buying new plants — it’s economical, educational, and environmentally friendly.
