Seeing those AWESOME FORMATIONS during my recent Michigan adventure truly blew me away! It’s incredible how nature sculpts such unique art every winter. But exploring Michigan in the colder months offers so much more than just stunning ice formations. Beyond just marveling at the frozen landscapes, Michigan is a treasure trove for winter outdoor enthusiasts. I've found endless ways to enjoy the season. Ice fishing, for example, is a popular pastime here. There's nothing quite like the quiet solitude of sitting on a frozen lake, waiting for a bite, surrounded by Michigan's serene winter scenery. It’s a peaceful escape and a great way to enjoy the crisp air. Remember to always check ice conditions and local regulations before heading out! If fishing isn't your speed, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are fantastic ways to explore Michigan's vast network of trails. Imagine trekking through a silent, snow-covered forest, the only sound being the crunch of snow underfoot. Many state parks and natural areas offer groomed trails, making it easy to get started, even for beginners. One of my favorite parts of my trip to the UP of Michigan was all of the waterfalls! These are all located in the Munising area. Chapel Falls Is located on the Chapel trail in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. To get to the falls I would say it’s roughly 1.5 miles, if I’m remembering right! T
