Get ready with me: Kickboxing

I’ve started kickboxing recently at Nova Gyms Martial Arts & Fitness - Oak Creek and now you can come along to get ready with me!

#gymclothes are first. Get something that is breathable, comfortable, and allows you to move your body however you want. This is really important because you don’t want your pants falling down or your shirt preventing you from stretching while you are constantly moving! I recently got a shirt from #amazon that has a little window for my #AppleWatch but I don’t wear my watch when I have my gloves on.

I recently got myself a #silicone ring package so my engagement and wedding ring don’t get damaged in my gloves, and also so they don’t dig into my fingers. Speaking of #boxinggloves, I got mine from Dick’s Sporting goods, but you can get similar ones on Amazon for $40.

I always bring extra items in my gym back such as my wallet, perfume, deodorant, something to put my hair up if I don’t have a hair tie, extra rings, and I also have #shinguards but that’s only for sparring.

I always put my hair up in a high pony tail or braids because it gets hot and sweaty, and you really need your hair out of your face. Whatever #hairstyles work best for keeping hair out of your face is best!

Lastly, I always make sure I put on extra deodorant and bring lots of water. Most gyms have a rule about being barefoot on the mat, so it’s also good practice to clip your nails and toe nails to avoid hurting someone.

Now all that’s left is to go to your #kickboxingworkout and have fun!

... Read moreKickboxing is an exhilarating full-body workout that engages multiple muscle groups and enhances both physical and mental fitness. To maximize your experience, start by investing in breathable and flexible clothing designed for high-intensity training. Brands available on platforms like Amazon provide a range of options tailored for comfort and performance. Additionally, consider using protective gear such as silicone rings to safeguard your jewelry during training. This is essential, as it prevents damage and maintains your grip. Focus on hydration and personal care as well—bringing extra deodorant and a water bottle keeps you fresh during workouts. Kickboxing not only focuses on building strength but also improves coordination and flexibility, making it vital to warm up and stretch before sessions. A solid pre-workout routine can significantly boost your performance and prevent injuries. Engaging in kickboxing also offers a fun way to connect with others in the fitness community. Many gyms host classes that allow you to learn techniques while making new friends. So gear up and embrace the dynamic and supportive environment; your body and mind will thank you for it!
