Hey everyone! I wanted to dive a little deeper into the idea of 'not making yourself smaller.' It’s something I’ve personally struggled with, and I know many of us do. Sometimes, it feels safer to dim our light, to hold back our opinions, or even to hide our true talents because we’re worried about what others might think, or if we’ll outshine someone else. But honestly, when we do that, we’re not just shortchanging ourselves; we’re also depriving the world of the unique gifts only we can offer. Think about it: have you ever felt that nagging voice telling you to 'be realistic' or 'don't get too ahead of yourself'? That's often where the 'making yourself smaller' starts. It could be in your career, your relationships, or even just in expressing your creativity. It’s a self-imposed limitation that stops us from truly living according to our purpose. So, how do we start letting our light shine, unapologetically? For me, it began with truly understanding my own worth. It wasn't about being arrogant, but about recognizing my inherent value and unique strengths. Journaling, spending time reflecting on what truly energizes me, and identifying my core values were huge steps. What are the things that make your heart sing? What causes do you deeply care about? These are clues to your purpose. Another big one is embracing vulnerability. It’s scary to put yourself out there, to share your authentic self, or to pursue a dream that feels too big. But often, it's in those moments of vulnerability that we truly connect with others and discover our own resilience. Don't be afraid to take that leap, even if it's just a small one. Remember, every big journey starts with a single step. And don't look back! Once you decide to step into your power, there might be moments of doubt or even criticism. But remember why you started. Focus on the positive impact you can make, the growth you're experiencing, and the joy of authentically living your purpose. Your light isn't meant to be hidden; it's meant to illuminate your path and inspire those around you. Let's all commit to shining brighter, together!
