Let’s build a Postpartum Cart 🫶

Y’all I didn’t do this til my 6th baby and I don’t know why I never thought of it before, a cart that I can take between our bedroom and living room that has all the supplies I need for me and baby. Because nothing is worse than needing a diaper or wipes; and having to physically get up to go find them.

So simplify your life with a cart of goodies; and clearly what you add will depend on what you feel you need most in whatever season of postpartum you are. For me; I’m prepped for a newborn and breastfeeding; aka diapers, wipes and SNACKS 👌

I found this cart at Walmart for less than $15; it took 2-3 minutes to snap together and was a breeze.

🛒 Mainstays Multi Purpose Rolling Cart is the name of the cart I got; technically it’s shown for a laundry room but same exact concept as every other 3 tier cart; just cheaper price.

... Read moreBuilding my postpartum rolling cart was seriously one of the best decisions I made for myself and baby after my last delivery. Before, I was constantly getting up for this or that, feeling sore and exhausted. It felt like a never-ending scavenger hunt for a diaper or a burp cloth, and my poor partner was always fetching things. This time, I decided to be proactive, and let me tell you, having a designated 'command center' on wheels made all the difference. If you're wondering what to stock in your own three-tier rolling cart, here’s a more comprehensive list of what became my lifesavers, making it truly a 'Postpartum Must Have': For Mom's Recovery & Comfort: Hydration Station: A large water bottle with a straw (so much easier to drink while holding baby!), and healthy electrolyte packets. Staying hydrated is key for recovery and milk supply. Pain Relief & Healing: Your prescribed pain medication, stool softener, perineal spray, witch hazel pads, and large, comfortable pads. For C-section moms, a belly binder can be a lifesaver. Nourishment: Beyond just quick snacks (think granola bars, fruit, nuts, crackers), having a bowl of lactation cookies or some pre-made smoothie packs can be amazing. Don't forget your nursing pads and nipple cream if you're breastfeeding. Entertainment & Connection: Phone charger, a good book or e-reader, headphones, and maybe a journal. These small moments of self-care are so important. Personal Hygiene: Dry shampoo, face wipes, lip balm – small luxuries that make you feel human. For Baby's Needs & Convenience: Diaper Duty: A stack of diapers, a pack of sensitive wipes, diaper cream, and a small roll of disposable bags for soiled diapers (super handy!). This truly makes it a fantastic "diaper rolling cart." Outfit Changes: A few spare onesies in different sizes. Blowouts happen, and having a fresh outfit right there prevents a trip to the nursery. Soothing & Comfort: A burp cloth, a pacifier, and maybe a small soft blanket. Health & Wellness: A baby thermometer, nail clippers/file, and saline drops or a nasal aspirator. Organization Tips for Your Rolling Cart: Top Tier (Mom Zone): Keep your most frequently used items here – water bottle, snacks, phone, pain relief, nipple cream. Things you need to grab with one hand. Middle Tier (Diaper & Baby Basics): This is where your diapers, wipes, diaper cream, and burp cloths live. Easy access for quick changes. Bottom Tier (Extra Supplies & Less Frequent Items): Stock extra packs of wipes, backup diapers, extra nursing pads, or even a small basket for dirty laundry/burp cloths. This makes your "baby cart organizer" truly efficient. I loved placing mine right next to our bed for nighttime feedings and then easily wheeling it to the living room during the day. It meant I could truly 'nest' and focus on my baby without feeling like I was constantly searching for something. Seriously, if you're expecting or already a new mom, consider building one of these multi-purpose carts. It's an investment in your sanity!
