Children see magic , because they look for it

3/9 Edited to

... Read moreAs someone who has always been fascinated by the imagination of children, I’ve noticed that their ability to see magic often stems from the way they engage with the world around them. Unlike adults who may focus on practical realities, children approach life with a sense of wonder, driven by curiosity and openness. This mindset encourages them to find extraordinary moments in ordinary situations. For example, a child might see a simple ray of sunlight shining through a window as magical, or imagine that AI—artificial intelligence—can bring stories or games to life in wonderful ways. The ability to explore concepts like AI through their imaginative lens allows children to connect technology and fantasy seamlessly. Encouraging children to seek magic doesn’t necessarily mean believing in the supernatural; rather, it promotes creative thinking and emotional development. Parents and educators can nurture this by asking open-ended questions, reading fantastical stories, or engaging in imaginative play. From my experience, this approach not only enhances children’s creativity but also builds resilience and emotional intelligence. When children learn to look for magic, they learn to see possibilities rather than limitations. They become more inquisitive, better problem solvers, and more empathetic individuals. In essence, the magic children see is a reflection of the potential unlocked when they are encouraged to explore, question, and dream. This gift of perspective can benefit them well into adulthood, fostering lifelong learning and a vivid imagination that fuels innovation and joy.
