my struggles gg back to uni at 25 😭😭

hellu zesties!!!! 🍋🍋~ it’s w2 of sch and ahhh i just wanted to share since i think this is a vv diff perspective from everyone (-‘:

for context, i’m 25 this year and i’ve graduated poly in 2020 but i went to work and had a sponsorship to study pt uni in nus’s chem eng! but bc of covid and there weren’t enough students to make up a class for years, i decided to quit my full time and go to full time uni instead! 😀

i think i have q a few struggles, like being embarrassed at my age 😭 but slowly i think i’m started to embrace it bc many of my friends came up and said if they were me they wouldn’t come back to uni and that i was rlly brave for doing so! 🥹🥹

💸💸 MONEY

thank god for my mom for being supportive and is paying for my tuition but i’m also getting bursary so that helps too!! but from receiving monthly pay and being comfortable to going back to being a student HITS HARD 😢😢😢 i can’t really enjoy life as much because i’m relying solely on my savings… so that’s abit hard to get used to i guess!

⛺️ ORI CAMPS

so thank god i went to sports unlimited and also the cceb ori! they were both q okay and i q enjoyed them, glad to have made some friends 🥰🥰🥰 out of them so i wouldn’t be too lost during welcome week! 🤩

📚STUDIES

it’s abit hard, not studying for a few years then coming back to school, but i guess i just gotta get back the momentum and start again! 😭😭 and i feel it’s especially hard since i’m not just a blank canvas?! it’s like i’m a piece of paper with pencil marks and they’ve been erased so i’m trying to see what’s left on the paper… idk if you get it… and HAHAHA SOMETIMES i remember the formula/things wrongly 🤡 which is also why i opted for the whole 4y.. dk if it’s a mistake 🙃

🏡 HALL LIFE

so far at week 2, bc i didn’t attend hall ori, i don’t really know anyone and still don’t! idk if it’s jz me but i feel q annoyed sometimes when im trying to sleep but i get woken up at 3/4am bc of the noise… i mean midnight is fine but im so tired from school i just want to rest 😭😭 and i’m p sure like some guy is PERMANENTLY staying here ngl 😩 but i rlly like the idea of hall bc it separates my school life and my life outside of school TOTALLY. i don’t study on weekends when i’m back but when i’m in school, it feels easier to study in hall, when i’m undisturbed and there’s lesser ✨distractions✨!!!

CCA? 🏅

i went for the welcome week and cca fair, it was q nice to see everything! and i’ve recently went for an interview for sports club!! so i rlly hope it all goes well and i get in hehe :D i’m just hoping to make the most out of my school life since i’m already here right?? 🤩

okkk hope yall enjoy my perspective of uni life so far!!! hope to have happier updates soon hehehe ❤️😘

... Read moreGoing back to university as a mature student definitely comes with unique challenges, and it's something I wasn't fully prepared for at first. One thing I realized is how important it is to manage your time wisely. Juggling studies, extracurricular activities, and personal life can feel overwhelming, but setting a structure helped me reduce stress and improve focus. Another aspect is financial adjustment, which hit me hard—as someone used to earning a salary, shifting to living on savings and bursaries was an eye-opener. Budgeting carefully and seeking financial support early on made a huge difference in making things manageable. I also found that social connections in halls and during orientation camps are vital for easing the transition. Even if you can't attend every event, trying to meet a few people helped me feel less isolated and built a support network that shares similar experiences. For those returning to study after a gap, remember that it's okay to struggle with remembering concepts or routines. Taking things step-by-step and gradually building momentum worked for me, and don’t hesitate to ask peers or professors for support. Lastly, embracing your unique path and age as strengths rather than barriers changed my perspective. Many friends admired my courage to return to uni, and I started to see my journey as one filled with resilience and growth. It’s definitely not easy, but it’s worth it to pursue your goals and make university life yours on your own terms.

Hello! I’m a year 1 uni student who went through the longest education route possible in SG. 1. Went through ITE route, Nitec and Higher Nitec. (4 years) 2. Then went on to ft Poly student(3 years) 3. Had to serve NS too (2 years) 4. Entered uni at the age of 26. Trust me that you’re not alone and definitely not too old for uni, it’s actually very common here.

Couldn’t go Uni, so what’s next..? 😵‍💫
I’ve graduated from Poly in May of this year and have been actively applying for University regardless of my low gpa point of 3.13 because I believed in some sort of luck that could get me into University with this low ass point. Before knowing my result, I have been actively grinding for jobs as y

Here’s my story, If you never try you will never know.
Hi, I think many of you all know me as Audrey’s sister. But I think many of you all don’t know about my struggles when it comes to my own personal growth. I always compare myself to my peers who are doing so much better than me. Those who are younger than me already have a family, car and even
