Let’s talk about PCOS

For my girlies that have PCOS how did you find out you had it? When did you realize you have it? Did the doctor tell you that you had it or you had to ask?

I’ve always wondered for years if I had it because of my irregular period & how heavy they are , I always went to by obgyn and I always got told I have irregular period that was it so I never asked could I have PCOS and now that I’m older and I’ve seen a lot of signs that I may have it & I wonder a lot more now could I have it & should I just go ahead and bring it up to my doctor since it was never brought up to me.

... Read morePolycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) affects millions of women worldwide, yet many remain undiagnosed or misinformed. Symptoms often include irregular periods, hormonal imbalances, and weight gain, making it crucial to understand your body. If you've been experiencing any of these signs, consider discussing your concerns with a healthcare provider. Early diagnosis can lead to better management of symptoms and improve quality of life. Community support plays a significant role in coping with PCOS. Various online forums and support groups allow individuals to share their experiences, tips, and treatments. Engaging with others who understand the challenges can foster a sense of solidarity and empowerment. Women with PCOS have found solace in discussing lifestyle changes, medications, and alternative therapies that may help alleviate symptoms. Remember, you're not alone on this journey, and reaching out can make a significant difference in your health and well-being.

I have had it since I was like 20 and always asked drs about it and they wouldn’t diagnose it until my new dr yesterday officially gave me the diagnosis. Im 42 smh… she took one look at my labs and was like are you aware you have PCOS?

Irregular periods. Basically I didn’t have any. They ignored it and just put me on birth control all through H.S. I got an ultra sound in my beginning years of collage and they told me they saw follicles on my ovaries. Luckily I didn’t really have other symptoms.
