... Read moreIf you're on the hunt for a new sunscreen, especially as a 'hormonal acne girlie' with sensitive skin, you know the struggle is real. For years, I avoided daily SPF because every formula felt heavy, greasy, or just made my breakouts worse. But let me tell you, finding the perfect SPF can be a complete game-changer – not just for sun protection, but for managing your acne too! The sunscreen I recently discovered truly feels high-end without the hefty price tag, and it's become my holy grail. What makes it a 10/10 for me? First off, it's incredibly lightweight. Unlike other sunscreens that feel like a thick mask, this one absorbs beautifully into the skin, leaving absolutely no white cast or sticky residue. This is crucial for my sensitive skin, which reacts badly to anything suffocating. More importantly, it's shine-free. Anyone with hormonal acne knows that excess oil can exacerbate breakouts, and adding a shiny sunscreen on top is the last thing we need. This SPF gives a lovely natural finish, keeping my skin looking fresh all day. This feature alone makes it a winner in my book. And for those of us who wear makeup, this is where it truly shines: makeup sits so perfectly on top of it. It acts almost like a primer, creating a smooth canvas for foundation and concealer without pilling or making my makeup slide off by midday. I've tried countless sunscreens that claim to be makeup-friendly, but this one actually delivers. But beyond comfort and aesthetics, let's talk about why sunscreen is non-negotiable for acne-prone skin. Sun exposure can actually worsen post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) – those dark spots left behind after a breakout. Wearing a broad-spectrum SPF daily helps prevent these marks from getting darker and speeds up their fading process. It also protects your skin from the sun's damaging UV rays, which can compromise your skin barrier, making it more vulnerable to irritation and breakouts. When choosing a sunscreen for hormonal acne, look for formulas that are labeled "non-comedogenic" (meaning they won't clog pores) and "oil-free." Mineral sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are often gentler on sensitive and acne-prone skin compared to some chemical filters, as they sit on top of the skin rather than being absorbed. However, advancements in chemical sunscreens mean there are now many excellent, lightweight options available for acne sufferers too. My tip for application? Always apply your sunscreen as the last step in your skincare routine, before any makeup. Use about a quarter-sized amount for your face and neck to ensure adequate protection. Don't forget to reapply every two hours if you're exposed to direct sunlight, sweating, or swimming. After years of searching, I can confidently say that this spf is amazing. It addresses all my concerns as a 'hormonal acne girlie' – sensitivity, breakouts, shine, and makeup compatibility. If you're struggling to find an SPF that works with your skin, give this one a try. It truly earned its 10/10 rating in my routine!

I use that sunscreen and it has been my favorite so far. I also like how the green tint helps with redness.
