Mamaw’s Southern Style Chocolate Gravy

I don’t know about y’all but my sweet mamaw loved a sweet treat early in the morning! This was always her go to!! I’ll put the ingredients and directions below 💕

Ingredients

•¾ cup white sugar

•¼ cup cocoa

•3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

•2 cups milk

•1 tablespoon butter, softened

•2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

•Gather all ingredients.

•Whisk sugar, cocoa, and flour in a medium bowl until no lumps remain.

•Pour in milk and whisk until well combined.

•Transfer mixture to a saucepan; cook and stir over medium heat until it thickens to a gravy consistency, 7 to 10 minutes.

•Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla.

•Serve warm.

One way my ex husband’s family did it was by putting a big ole dollop of butter in a bowl the pouring your “gravy” over that, swirling it all up, and then dipping your biscuits in it.
