Cookie scents showdown!🏋️♀️🍪
Philosophy sugared crust vs Native sugar cookie
I’ve been trying both shower gels for a month now and have some notes.
🍰Philosophy:
When I bought this scent, I was told by so many people that it smelled like Christmas cookies even though the title is sugar crust. I will say there is a distinct difference to me and my nose. If you were looking at this scent for cookies, I would say this is not the one. It really does smell like a nice wintery warm coconut pie crust, but doesn’t have the cookie element that I wanted initially. Because I don’t think this this is a cookie. I can’t read it the same as the native one. All I can say is that it is different but I still really love it and if you like #gourmand smells, you’ll like this!
🍪Native:
This is truly a bakery cookies at Christmas kind of smell and it makes the entire bathroom smell like warm cookies right out of the oven. I love this just as much as the Philosophy scent BUT they are different!

After spending a month with both Philosophy Sugared Crust and Native Sugar Cookie body washes side-by-side, I have so much more to share beyond just which one smells like a true cookie! My goal was to find that perfect festive scent, and while I didn't quite get the 'frosted sugar cookie' dream from one, the other totally delivered. Let's dive deeper into Philosophy's Sugared Crust. When I first saw the beautiful golden bottle (just like the one in my picture!), I was hopeful for that classic holiday cookie scent. But as the article mentions, it's truly unique. Imagine a warm, buttery pie crust, fresh from the oven, with a hint of toasted coconut and a delicate dusting of sugar. It's not the sugary-sweet explosion you might expect from a 'sugar cookie' scent. Instead, it's more refined, a cozy, sophisticated gourmand. It makes my shower feel like a warm hug on a cold winter evening, less like a bustling Christmas bakery and more like a quiet, comforting dessert. For those who love warm vanilla, subtle spice, and a less overtly sweet profile, this one is a gem. It lathers beautifully, too, leaving my skin feeling soft and lightly perfumed with that comforting, almost caramel-like warmth. If you're looking for something that evokes baking, but specifically a rich, golden brown pie crust rather than a simple sugar cookie, this is absolutely worth trying. It’s a sophisticated twist on a sweet treat. Now, onto the Native Sugar Cookie body wash, the white bottle complementing the Philosophy one so well! This one absolutely nails the 'bakery cookies at Christmas' vibe. From the moment I squeezed it out, I was transported straight into a bustling holiday kitchen. It's that unmistakable aroma of freshly baked sugar cookies – think vanilla, rich butter, and that sweet, sugary icing. It’s vibrant, joyful, and incredibly authentic. My entire bathroom fills with this delightful scent, and it lingers for a good while, making my post-shower routine feel extra festive. Unlike some overly sweet body washes, Native's version feels balanced and not cloying. It’s a true crowd-pleaser and perfect for anyone who wants their body care to smell exactly like a tray of warm, frosted sugar cookies. It’s a fantastic pick-me-up and definitely puts a smile on my face. The lather is creamy, and it rinses clean, leaving a gentle, sweet scent on my skin that's just enough to enjoy without being overpowering. So, which one is for you? If your heart desires that literal 'sugar cookie philosophy' scent – meaning a straightforward, sweet, and buttery cookie – Native Sugar Cookie is your champion. It perfectly embodies the 'frosted sugar cookie' dream many of us are searching for in a body wash. But don't count out Philosophy Sugared Crust! If you appreciate a more complex, warm, and sophisticated gourmand that leans towards a 'brown butter cookie philosophy' (think nutty, deeper, less overtly sweet), then Philosophy will truly delight you. I've found myself reaching for Native when I want an instant mood boost and a playful, festive scent, especially around the holidays or when I just need something comforting. Philosophy, on the other hand, is my go-to for a more relaxing, luxurious shower experience, perfect for winding down in the evening. Both provide great cleansing and leave my skin feeling good, so it really comes down to what specific 'cookie' aroma you're craving. It’s fascinating how two products with similar names can offer such different, yet equally enjoyable, scent journeys! I found both to be great additions to my body care and body routine, just for different occasions.

I also don’t like their hair products because of the drying. I stick to their body wash.
