High Protein & Tasty!
I had a craving for some typical Chinese takeout but I’m working hard to cut down on (and eventually cut out) soy. Whipped up a quick sauce using a no soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, sesame seeds, ginger, garlic, water and corn starch. Cooked down some onions, peppers and broccoli, sautéed the shrimp until almost ready and then added the sauce. I decided on some dumplings instead of rice…and voila! 38 grams of protein, around 450 calories.

What do you put in your stir fry sauce?
When it comes to stir fry, the sauce is crucial for flavor. You can customize your sauce by incorporating different ingredients to suit your taste. Consider adding a splash of lime juice for acidity, or experimenting with sweeteners like honey or maple syrup for an added depth. Incorporating fresh herbs such as basil or cilantro can also heighten the freshness of your dish. For those looking to bulk up the nutrition, consider adding nuts or seeds like cashews or sunflower seeds, which not only provide healthy fats but also enhance the protein content. Additionally, think about varying your choice of protein. Beyond shrimp, chicken, beef, or tofu can also be excellent choices. Each option will impart its unique flavor and texture to your meal. Don't hesitate to blend different proteins in a stir fry to maximize both taste and nutritional benefits. With endless possibilities for customization, your stir fry can always remain exciting and healthy. Remember, the key to a great stir fry is high heat and quick cooking, so have everything prepared and ready to go before starting! Enjoy the process of mastering your unique stir fry sauce and let your culinary creativity shine.
