dog park recs as a college dog mom🤌
if you’ve been following me for a bit you know that I am a dog mom to the absolute highest degree. being a dog mom in new york as a college student is basically my only personality trait at this point. Me and T have been to our fair share of dog parks around the city and these are a few that we have or probably would go back to.
1) Central Park
we go here most everyday except for when it’s raining (he will not step foot outside if it’s raining) this is his favorite place hands down. he has a long lead cause I don’t completely trust him off leash yet but that doesn’t stop him from racing down hills and doing somersaults, he’s his happiest self when we’re here.
2) Tompkins Square Park
this is in the east village and it’s literally just a big square with a fenced in area. not necessarily my favorite place to take him, we’ve only been a few times but the people are friendly and it’s well kept. they don’t have any sections for big dogs and small dogs so that’s my only downside because some of the big dogs like to play too rough.
3) Madison Square Park
Our second favorite! They have a section only for small dogs, and there’s so many dachshunds that go here! If you know anything about the breed you know that for some reason they naturally gravitate towards each other and so do the owners 🙃 it’s like a club and I love it. they have fake grass and hills for them to play on, definitely a nice off leash option!
