Oven Beef Jerky
Our dehydrator broke right when we had our meat all set up, decided to throw it in the oven and I think we’ll be sticking to that for a while. Marinade was super simple.

Making beef jerky at home is a rewarding experience, especially when you have the right techniques and ingredients. If your dehydrator is broken, don't worry! Your oven can serve as an excellent alternative for creating flavorful jerky. The process begins with slicing high-quality beef thinly to ensure even drying. For this recipe, a marinade of Yoshida's Teriyaki, pepper, and chili flakes adds a delicious depth of flavor. Marinating your beef is crucial; the longer you allow it to soak up the flavors, the better. Generally, marinades should sit for at least 4-6 hours, but overnight is ideal for maximum taste. After marinating, pat the meat dry to remove excess moisture, which helps in achieving a better texture. Next, preheat your oven to a low temperature (around 160°F/70°C) and place the beef strips on a baking rack over a tray to catch drippings. Leaving space in between allows for proper air circulation, which will help in drying out the jerky effectively. The jerky will take about 4-6 hours to dry, depending on thickness—check periodically for your desired texture. Once dried, allow the jerky to cool and store it in an airtight container. Homemade beef jerky can last up to a month if stored properly and is perfect for on-the-go snacking. Whether you're prepping for a hike or just craving something savory, this easy oven beef jerky is sure to impress!
