Eating can be tough sometimes… let me help 🫶🏻

Hi everyone, so one thing I know something about is that around the back to school time of year, we may find it a bit harder to eat/keep ourselves fed for a number of reasons.

It’s important to keep our mind and body fed especially as we come into winter time.

I am by no means a professional, just a 24 year old who’s hoping to help another person out there not feel so alone. So here’s my tips on making eating a little easier.

1- pack snacks! I love keeping various types of granola bars, fruit and nut bars, fruit snacks— literally whatever I have that week as a good shelf-stable snack, one always goes in my purse

2- soups! I’m a huuuuge soup girl! I love chicken noodle, broccoli cheddar, tortellini, stuffed pepper, I could truly go on. They’re way to throw together in one pot and can be fairly cheap

3- eat with friends! I find sitting and eating with my friends, even over face time, helps me feel more present in my meal. I feel more full in both my body and my soul

4- make it yourself! This kind of ties with soups but I find so much comfort in making my own meals sometimes. Home alone spending an entire day making treats of bagels peacefully? Sign me up

5- reach out! One of the hardest to do but most helpful is to reach out to those you trust and to let them help you. They may make you a meal that you’ve bonded over, take you to your favorite restaurant, or simply give you company you may not have known you needed.

To wrap up this post I’d like to put some resources in for people to go to if they are struggling with eating. I’d also like to let people know that my inbox is always open

... Read moreEating can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially during seasons such as back to school or winter. However, there are various strategies you can adopt to ease the struggle. Packing shelf-stable snacks like granola bars and fruit snacks ensures you have nutritious options at hand. Additionally, warm and hearty soups are not only comforting but also affordable and easy to prepare, providing a sense of fulfillment. Enjoying meals with friends, whether in person or virtually, can significantly enhance your dining experience, making you feel more connected and satisfied. When things feel too tough, don’t hesitate to reach out to loved ones for support; their companionship can make a world of difference. Lastly, taking the time to prepare your meals can be a therapeutic activity, offering both satisfaction and creativity. Always remember, there are resources available to assist you if you are facing challenges with your eating habits: for more information, visit the National Eating Disorders Association and find the help you need.

Thanks for posting this! I get so busy and distracted sometimes i forget to eat a proper meal and feel my body. I think it’s important to talk about the habits surrounding food and the company you share food with. Especially when you are growing up and you are figuring out what you like and don’t like!

How long can you go without eating?
And when you finally have a meal, what is it? The key difference between starving and fasting is what you choose to eat when you finally have a meal. Many think fasting means eating less, but it’s really about eating what’s required (and sometimes more). You’re only spacing your meals out to al
