Dorm vibes during Covid

I wanted to show my dorms and talk about my essentials each year in college BUT totally forgot how COVID interrupted my sophomore and junior years!

So my dorm room pictures are next to none at that time (also had to move TWICE sophomore year due to flooding in my room)

Most of the essentials I built sophomore year stuck with me through the next 3 years of college.

- mini tapestries

- church at body pillow

- blue floral sheets

- off white duvet

- letter board sign (lasted 5 years until it caught on fire)

- coffee bar cart (currently being used by my sister in college)

- string lights galore

During Covid college was a very different place. Masks were everywhere, online with zoom was a pain, and I still feel 19 years old 😭.

Who else was in college during Covid? What was it like for you?

... Read moreThe Covid pandemic significantly altered the typical college experience, especially for those living in dorms. From shifts to online learning via platforms like Zoom to adapting to new safety measures such as social distancing and mask-wearing, students had to navigate a challenging period. Dorm decor became more important as students sought to create comforting environments amidst uncertainty. Popular essentials included colorful bedding to bring warmth to clinical surroundings, cozy throw pillows, and ambient string lights that added a personal touch. These items not only created a sense of home but also served as a backdrop for virtual study sessions and social gatherings among roommates. Additionally, many faced unexpected situations, such as needing to relocate due to flooding or other unforeseen events, which added stress to an already tumultuous time. It was essential for students to find community and connection, even if it meant engaging through screens rather than in person. This shared experience of navigating dorm life during Covid continues to resonate with students today—highlighting resilience, creativity, and the importance of support networks among peers. How did you adapt your dorm space during such an unpredictable time? Join the conversation and share your stories!

This is in NO way glamorizing teen pregnancy. If anything the complete opposite. I love my girl, and I’ve even had another baby since then. But this was HARD. It still is HARD. In my mind I was so grown, and now I look back and know I was still such a baby. I had no choice but to grow up fast. Th
