Because He First Loved Us

We love because He loved us first,
Through mercy deep, and love immersed.
Before we knew His sacred name,
He called us out and removed our shame.
He gave His Son, the ransom true,
A gift of love for me and you.
No greater love has ever been shown,
Than Christ who died to make us known.
Jehovah, Giver of all light,
Who draws us gently from the night.
Each perfect gift comes from above,
Wrapped in His kindness and sealed in love.
We dedicate our heart and soul,
To serve our God is our faithful goal.
No longer ours, our lives we yield,
Our hearts are His, our vow is sealed.
Our steps now walk His chosen way,
His Word a lamp from day to day.
With thankful hearts, our voices raise,
To sing Jehovah's endless praise.
We stand in awe and we bow in trust,
We love, because He first loved us.
