The worst kind of husband🐕‍🦺🔪📱🧠

⭐️Overall rating:4 /5: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Imagine waking up everyday, not being able to remember you are married and have to be told what happened to you on a daily basis. Tess was a business woman beforehand, engaged to the love of her life harry, but when she wakes up it’s a different man claiming to be her husband and she no longer can work. Due to a car accident, she suffered a severe head injury that caused her to not remember a thing. Along the way, we uncover that the new husband doesn’t allow her to leave the house, tracks her phone (texts and calls), doesn’t let her use real utensils, and gives her odd medicine every single night. He seems like the perfect husband, but little lies slowly come together and she has no idea why she would’ve married a man like that or what happened to her harry. Then she gets a text telling her that the man she is with isn’t a good guy. She does everything he can to figure out what is going on and who she can trust.

This was a fast paced good read that I finished in a sitting. The twist in this was good. Although it’s not my favorite Freida read it was still good.

... Read moreIf you're anything like me, you're always looking for that next gripping read, and Freida McFadden rarely disappoints! After finishing 'Do You Remember?', I just had to share more about why this book truly stands out. One of the biggest draws for me was diving deeper into the mystery surrounding Tess Strebel's memory loss. Imagine waking up and being told you're married to a stranger, only to slowly realize he might be the 'worst kind of husband' imaginable. The author masterfully builds the tension around this 'controlling husband' – the subtle ways he isolates Tess, the suspicious 'odd medicine' every night, and even tracking her phone. You can't help but feel Tess's growing paranoia and desperation as she tries to piece together her past after that 'brain injury'. It truly makes you wonder, who is this man, and what really happened to her old life? And speaking of first impressions, the book cover for 'Do You Remember?' itself is incredibly striking. I loved how the image, often featuring a lone, symbolic 'red rose', immediately hints at both romance lost and a darker, more sinister undertone. If you've seen the cover, you know it perfectly captures the book's 'suspenseful plot' and the unsettling secrets Tess is trying to uncover. The OCR even mentioned a 'dog named Ziggy protecting the protagonist' – another subtle detail that adds to the layered mystery and Tess's vulnerability. That back cover warning, 'Don't trust the man who calls himself your husband,'? Pure genius for hooking a reader! This book is a fantastic choice if you're into psychological thrillers that keep you guessing until the very end. The fast pace means you'll fly through it, just like I did, desperate to know what secrets are hidden behind this seemingly perfect facade. It's not just about a woman losing her memory; it's about reclaiming her identity and escaping a truly terrifying situation. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a book that explores themes of trust, deception, and the chilling reality of a 'bad husband'.
