This series has literally taken me on an emotional roller coaster. I feel so protective over Raisy. The flirtatious adventurers, the struggling, lonely, caring souls. The crazy raisins. I enjoyed every second of this book full of risks, choices, heartbreak, and most importantly love. What I do love that this book touches on, which I feel isn’t touched on enough, is fertility struggles. So many women nowadays struggle to have a baby, and this book gave you the pretty and the ugly of that battle.
Daisy is one of my soul girls. I'm not as physically adventurous as she and Ryke are, but the mental health representation of her PTSD, anxiety, and depression are so important to me. My girl found her voice. I didn't know I needed to hear her directly speak to me but I feel like I gained a little courage for my own obstacles knowing l'm not alone.
As someone who's always felt invalidated about her emotions, I feel strongly connected with her and how she persevered to reclaim herself. Not to mention she overcame her controlling family and eating disorder to truly become herself is inspiring.
Daisy realizes there is empty void in her life that she wants to fill and Ryke is on board with her. It was so hard seeing Daisy be sad but I loved seeing her grow and accepting to take it one day at a time. Then there is Ryke who deals with a lot in this book and the poor guy went through so much. I loved his development too. There were of course many side characters but the main ones being Lily, Rose, Connor, and Lo. However, we see more romance in some other characters too. The romance was just cute in this book and I loved how supporting the couple were of each other.
Ryke is my all-time favorite character for many reasons and this book just reiterates his selflessness. Don't be fooled by his constant fucks because he is "the most decent fucking guy you'll ever meet" (Lo's own words). He is caring, romantic, sweet, self-aware, and compassionate. He loves wholeheartedly and while he never loses this attribute, he learns to value his life even while still going one hundred and fifty miles per hour. You have to read this book it was amazing this series honestly!!! The growth of all these characters from teens to college students to parents. The transition and growth is amazing. Daisy is just so relatable to me that I feel like this is why I am obsessed with this book but my goodness this series is engraved in me. 🐺 🧗 ❤️🍼
