Is Drybar Hot Toddy Worth $31? My Honest Heat Protectant Review 💸🔥
I normally hate adding another product to dry hair before styling because there is always a chance it will make everything feel sticky, stiff or weirdly coated 😭🔥
The Drybar Hot Toddy Heat Protectant Mist is one of the few that disappears into my hair so well that I barely feel it.
I spray it through dry sections before using a curling iron or straightener, let it settle, then style like normal. The mist feels light and invisible instead of wet, oily or crunchy, which makes it much easier for me to use consistently.
And the scent? Honestly one of the best parts 💗✨
My hair smells freshly styled, the finished look feels smoother and I notice less of that rough, overheated feeling I used to get when I styled without enough protection.
Drybar says this mist is made for dry hair and protects against hot tools up to 450°F while helping reduce frizz and add shine.
Now for the price question 👀
At $31 for the full size, it is absolutely more expensive than a basic heat protectant.
For me, it earns the splurge because:
✨ I actually remember to use it
✨ it does not ruin my style
✨ it leaves my hair looking smoother
✨ the scent makes styling feel more luxurious
✨ it works on dry hair right before hot tools
✨ I would repurchase it
I cannot visually measure every bit of heat damage it prevents, but after using it repeatedly, my hair feels less rough after styling and the finish looks more polished.
So is Drybar Hot Toddy worth the money?
For someone who heat styles regularly and wants an invisible dry hair mist, yes. 💗
For someone who rarely uses hot tools or only wants the cheapest protection possible, probably not.
This is less of a random extra step and more like styling insurance that happens to smell amazing 🔥✨
Would you pay $31 for a heat protectant that feels invisible, or are you loyal to drugstore sprays? 👀
