Background: Soo I just got my piercing today, but I will say the pain is about a 3/10, not bad at all, and honestly I can say it hurt about the same as my first piercing as well. I have 3 piercings on both ears (2 lobe + and now a helix [x2]). I did get my helix done at Claire’s with a gun, I did not have a choice 💔 but I will say do NOT do this, I’m not sure if mine will even heal properly but I’m hoping so.
Healing process (what to and not to do):
clean with a saline solution 2-3x a day ✔️
keep hair + makeup/products away from piercing✔️
sleep on it❌
touch it❌
replace jewelry after 8-12 weeks✔️
get a hoop for freshly pierced❌
stay with a stud for a few months✔️

Unlike traditional piercings, the hidden helix is placed higher on the ear, often making it less visible, yet equally stylish. When contemplating a hidden helix piercing, understanding the procedure and aftercare is crucial for healing and maintaining ear health.
Ensure you choose a reputable piercer who uses a needle over a gun, as this minimizes trauma to the ear. Aftercare is essential; cleaning the piercing with saline solution 2-3 times a day helps prevent infections. Avoid sleeping on the side of the piercing and refrain from touching it to reduce irritation. Switching to jewelry designed for helix piercings, such as studs, rather than hoops can promote better healing in the first few months.
Timing is essential: wait 8 to 12 weeks before considering changing your jewelry to avoid complications. Additionally, be aware of potential allergic reactions to certain metals; opt for high-quality materials like titanium or surgical steel. Embrace the trend of hidden helix piercings with confidence by following these expert tips for a safe experience.
