I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT THESE
Before I had my daughter I watched tons of YouTube videos trying to make sure I had everything possible in preparation for her arrival. The truth is, you might not even use half the things you think you need. Now that my daughter is two months old, I feel like I can share my most used and favorite baby items that my husband and I use everyday.
Diaper caddy: We have a two story home, so having a caddy is so convenient and makes diaper changes a little more easy. The one pictured stays in our bedroom and has all the necessities. Extra shoutout to the nasal aspirator - I use this on my daughter everyday to get all the boogies since it’s allergy season.
Boppy: This one might be a lil controversial, but my husband and I have LOVED the Boppy. It made breastfeeding so much easier as I learned to get the hang of it. I will say, once I got use to breastfeeding it got easier and I don’t always need to use the Boppy, but when I need her she’s always there. My husband likes to use it when he’s rocking our daughter to sleep.
Pacifiers: I got 100% rubber pacifiers from Natursutten and my daughter loves them! Thank goodness she isn’t picky when it comes to paci’s. I would recommend to only buy one or two different kinds of pacifier’s for your baby to try. One they are here, they will let you know which one they like. You can always buy more later if neither work - Amazon overnight shipping!
Detergent: This detergent is from Target. It’s a safe option with no scent. For stains I use Miss Mouth’s Messy Eater Treater Spray - that paired with the detergent get stains right out!
Blankets: if you think your baby only needs one blanket… think again! Especially if you have your baby when the weather is cooler, you will need tons of blankets. Some times your nearest baby blanket becomes a burp cloth when your baby spits up all over the place! We have 5 blankets and I find that’s enough to keep in rotation. Hand sanitizer: I actually bought this a few weeks after bringing my daughter home from the hospital. Having hand sanitizer handy to use after diaper changes is much more convenient than trying to wash your hands while holding a baby! We keep a bottle in our diaper caddy, downstairs next to the pack-n-play, and in the nursery.
Diapers: I highly recommend asking and encouraging your baby shower guests to bring a box of diapers. We went through almost two boxes of diapers in the first month. We buy the Costco diapers and they’ve been great. No blow outs unless there’s a really big poo or we need to size up. They also don’t irritate my daughters skin. 10/10.
