He bought a house secretly

I’ve been with my boyfriend for over four years, and we’ve talked for a long time about building a future together including buying a house and starting a family. We even looked at a few homes earlier this year but decided not to move forward because of timing and relationship stuff.

Last night, he told me he bought that same house… months ago. Completely behind my back. He signed papers, went to the bank, met with lawyers and never mentioned it once.

He says he only did it because he thought I was going to leave him and wanted to “secure something for himself.” I don’t even know what to say. It’s not the fact that he bought a house — it’s the secrecy, the lies, and the fact that he kept such a huge decision hidden from me while we were planning a life together.

He’s been apologizing nonstop, but my trust feels shattered. Would you try to work through something like this, or is this a sign the relationship’s already broken?
