What’s up weebs!
This is my first time doing this so please bare with me, I notice how whenever someone makes any anime recommendations they are always the same few such as Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, etc. which are all great but there are thousands more out there that people don’t know about that (in my honest opinion) surpass the mainstream media by a long shot. So here we go!
For this list I am focusing on the anime that released this past summer, so Summer of 2025, these are my personal favorites from the season and ones I highly recommend! So let’s get into it,
1) The Secret of the Silent Witch -
She’s powerful enough to save the kingdom and the rest of the world but too anxious to talk to people! Meet Monica, the socially awkward mage hiding her identity as the ‘Silent Witch.’ It’s magic, mystery, and maximum introvert energy! The animation is top tier and the intro was one I never could skip!
2) The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity -
Opposites attract, but make it poetic! Watch a misunderstood bad boy and the perfect girl fall for each other in the softest way possible, it’s a slow burn romance that will absolutely make you melt in your seat!
3) The Water Magician -
Set in a magical world of beasts and secrets, The Water Magician follows Ryo, a guy who’s reincarnated with water powers and tries to live peacefully… until fate throws him into danger. He’s got a hidden gift, years of struggle, and a slow-burn journey to become legendary! P.s if you liked Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End then you’ll love this one! Very similar vibe!
4) Betrothed to my Sister’s Ex -
The title is weird and kinda misleading so please don’t judge this by its cover! This anime follows the romance story of an older sister named Marie. She’s always been the forgotten daughter, till one night she meets her Prince Charming, he later comes back with a marriage proposal but accidentally put the wrong sisters name, check it out to see what happens!
5) April Showers Bring May Flowers -
She thinks she’s just the background character until the prettiest boy in class notices her rearranging flowers every morning. This anime is a soft, shy-heart romance with rain storms, blooming secrets, and comically related characters!
6) The Summer Hikaru Died -
It’s summer, it’s warm, and Hikaru is… gone. But the boy who came back looks just like him. This story is a quiet heartbreak wrapped in friendship, grief, and something not quite human. This isn’t for the weak hearted. As an avid horror lover, this one gave me the spooks!
7) The Fated Princess: Who Made me a Princess
Imagine waking up as a princess in a fairytale, sounds perfect, right? Except your dad might kill you. This anime gives soft magic, sparkly dresses, and major character growth with lovable characters! Also the animation in this anime has been the best I’ve seen in a long time!
