In my experience, true rebirth is less about denying our human nature and more about redirecting our focus toward a deeper spiritual connection and purpose. Many people, myself included, have wrestled with the tension between fleshly desires and the call to live a life aligned with spiritual values. What helped me was embracing the teaching found in Matthew 16:25: "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." This verse highlights the paradox of spiritual life—letting go of self-centered desires leads to true fulfillment. Being born again means acknowledging the limitations of living only for the flesh—where lust and immediate gratification dominate—and instead choosing to live by faith, hope, and love. This doesn't mean a sudden or easy change, but a continuous process of renewing one’s mind and heart. Practically, this transformation involves daily acts of self-examination, prayer, and seeking community support. It’s about developing patience with oneself, realizing that growth is gradual, and being committed to pursuing the life that faith invites us into. Sharing this journey openly helps destigmatize struggles with fleshly desires and encourages others to pursue genuine spiritual renewal. Ultimately, being born again is an invitation to live beyond the boundaries of our flesh and to find true life in surrendering to a higher purpose.
