Pattern Beauty
I am always opened to try new products especially for my daughters and my hair. Let me start by saying the shampoo and conditioner smells gorgeous. I haven't tried it on our hair yet, but I'm looking forward to it, as it's the whole reason I purchased from Pattern Beauty in the first place.
However, their skincare line... ma'am...
Pros
●Pretty packaging
●Body wash applies creamy and feel moisturizes after showering leaving skin soft and smooth
● Body scrub applies gently on the skin while melting away with water adding a moisturizing layer to the skin
●Body oil glides gently and absorbs into the skin without oily residue. Skin feels soft and moisturized
● Body cream is a silky smooth texture adding a radiant moisturizing shine to the skin
● Body lotion applies smoothly and absorbs nicely into the skin
● Body cream applies smoothly absorbing easily into the skin leaving a light moisturizing shine
Cons
● smells like cheap dollar tree product. Like those old lady floral generic floral perfume powder 🤢
● Not ideal for sensitive skin. I broke out in a rash after applying the lotion and body cream
● Exfoliating scrub melts too fast before you could get a nice exfoliation on the skin
● Body wash not ideal for wash cloths or loofah as it applies creamy with no suds bubbles
● Bottles extremely small for the price for the collection
My two cents:
The product is lovely in its application and does moisturizes the skin while leaving it soft and subtle without tacky, oily, or sticky residue.
However, the smell is very off putting to me and the lotions made me breakout because the amount of perfume in the product. The body full collection bundle was $154.80. Miss ma'am, the size of the products do not match the price point. I could buy better smelling products in a larger size from a small business, or just order skin so soft from Avon (iykyk).
As wonderful the products is in terms of moisturizing benefits and smooth application, it's a hard pass for me. The price and size of the products is the main contributing factor, along with it burning my skin. The smell of old lady perfume gives me a headache. This was a miss for me, but maybe something someone else will like. Just not me😆🤫
It's incredibly frustrating when you're excited to try a new skincare line, especially one as buzzy as Pattern Beauty skincare, only to find it doesn't live up to expectations. My experience trying new products, especially for body care, often mirrors this rollercoaster. You see the beautiful packaging, hear the hype, and hope it's going to be a game-changer for your skin. But sometimes, what promises luxury delivers irritation instead. The review highlights a common dilemma: a product can have fantastic moisturizing properties and a lovely application, yet fall short due to other factors like scent or price. As someone who's also navigated the world of fragrance-heavy products, I completely empathize with the struggle of finding something that feels good without triggering a reaction. Strong perfumes in skincare, while appealing to some, are a notorious culprit for sensitive skin. It's not uncommon for ingredients like various 'parfums' or essential oils to cause redness, itching, or even a full-blown rash, turning what should be a pampering routine into a skin crisis. So, if you're like me and have sensitive skin, or just prefer your body care without an overpowering scent, what are some alternatives worth exploring? My journey with sensitive skin has taught me to prioritize simplicity and proven ingredients. Brands like CeraVe, Vanicream, and Eucerin consistently deliver excellent, fragrance-free moisturizing options. Their lotions and creams are often developed with dermatologists, focusing on skin barrier repair and hydration without the unnecessary irritants. For a more natural approach, pure shea butter, cocoa butter, or unscented jojoba oil can be incredible for deep moisturization, often at a fraction of the cost of premium brands. Another key takeaway from the original review is the question of whether Pattern Beauty skincare is truly 'worth the cost.' This is where I encourage everyone to become a savvy shopper. Beyond the initial feel, consider the ingredient list. Are you paying for active ingredients or mostly water and fragrance? Compare the price per ounce/milliliter to similar products. Sometimes, a smaller, more concentrated product can offer better value than a large bottle of diluted ingredients. For body scrubs, if the exfoliating particles melt too quickly, you might be better off with a sugar or salt scrub that allows for more control and effective exfoliation. Ultimately, skincare is deeply personal, and what works for one person might not work for another. But when a product causes discomfort, regardless of its touted benefits or beautiful packaging, it's a clear sign to move on. Don't feel pressured to make a product 'work' if it's causing issues. Your skin's health and comfort should always be the top priority. There are so many fantastic, effective, and appropriately priced body care options out there that won't leave you with a rash or a headache.
