Finally waking up from narcissistic relationships
The irony of having my eyes closed in this picture lol🤦🏿♀️
Has anyone else been here?
The moment the penny drops and you realise the reason why something always felt off in relationships is because the person is a narcissist.
I’ve always avoided speaking about this, because I love to see the good in people. If they are the way they are it’s because of their past and no fault of their own. However, when you look at other people who have had equally difficult situations but are never nasty to this extent it makes you rethink.
This weekend I had had enough and decided to watch Dr Ramani’s videos on narcissism. My mouth absolutely dropped when I realised just how many kinds of narcissism there are. I know it isn’t fair to just taint people as one thing or other, however everything she was saying was describing exactly everything I’ve experienced with certain people in my life. EVERYTHING to a T. I never expected it to be so accurate.
I feel like I’ve woken up from a trance and it has made me reconsider just how giving I should be to people. Seeing the good in people isn’t always realistic. So yes I should be cautious. I’ve had to come on here because I don’t know anyone here and I really need to vent but don’t want to feel like I’m tainting anyone’s character.
One thing I’ve learnt, if I ever feel like I am walking on egg shells around people then that is my cue to question whats going on.
Anyone else feeling deeply impacted with narcissists? I’ve just noticed a friend is a covert narcissist and there’s been a relief in this realisation because now I know why they have an obsession to think that we are beefing when we are not. That this is a paranoia. None of my friends prior randomly ask me if we are beefing. Guys I have no energy to beef anyone I already have too much on my plate between grieving my daughter and navigating motherhood ain’t nobody got time for that. Beef is so pointless. Eesh. Of course there’s more but anyone want to chat?
