day in my life as a college RA!
i am a resident assistant at my community college! basically i oversee a certain amount of students, have certain duties, work over breaks. join me for a day in my life!
6:00 AM: wake up early for no reason. i don’t even set an alarm my brain just forces me awake. usually i buy breakfast in the caf but the food been lacking lately. i also have enough time to do my makeup but i usually wash my face brush my teeth and im ready LOL
9:00 AM: walk to campus. i go to a community college, which is one of the few around me that offer housing, so the walk from my dorm building to campus is 4 minutes max. i like to go in the caf early just so i can focus on getting work done. i find that i focus better when im not cooped up in my room. i had to work on my bulletin board for my floor.

10:00 AM: class. i have a management class that only meets once a week. a perk of this class is you never really have any in class work, it is mostly online. it is terribly painful to sit through though.
12:00 PM: lunch! after class i have about abetween classes so i have enough time to grab something quick from the cafeteria. i tried one of these poppi sodas and oh my god… it’s good but damn my stomach went crazy
12:30 PM: next class. this class is a twice a week which isn’t terrible. this is a communications class which i really enjoy.
2:30-3:30 PM: bulletin board!!! every month on the 3rd we have to make up a new bulletin board for our floor. mine are usually better but i am in a time crunch and have too much homework 😭
5:30 PM: dinner. bear with me. i am an extremely picky eater (i am a huge texture person how do i fix this???) my bf came over after he got off work so i made some fries and mac and cheese for us. (i love mac and cheese) after dinner he played the game for a bit while i did MORE homework.
7:30 PM: fortnite ! i got exhausted of homework so i hit my special vape and played fortnite with him!! (add me i need to play w girls :( )
8:30 PM: night routine. i have to do my night routine a little earlier due to having RA duties at night. will definitely make a get unready with me!!
9:30-11:30 PM: RA duty!! whenever i am on duty i have to take some walks around the building with a fellow RA to make sure everything is okay!! i can make a more in depth post about being an RA if anyone is interested!!
usually 12:00 AM: sleep!! by the time i am done with my rounds i am beyond tired hence why i do my routine before i go on my rounds. i crawl up in my bed w my bf and my bear and i am out for the count 😴

My day starts at 6:00 AM, waking up naturally without an alarm, which may seem strange but helps me stay focused. After a quick breakfast—lately, the food options in the cafeteria have been lackluster—I make my way to campus in just a few minutes. Classes take up a significant portion of my day, with a management course on the schedule for the morning. I appreciate that it meets only once a week and focuses primarily on online learning. However, I also need to juggle attending to students and developing creative bulletin board displays for my dorm floor. It can be a race against time, especially on busy days when homework piles up. My afternoons usually include grabbing lunch in between classes and finding time for myself amidst my responsibilities. For instance, I often enjoy a relaxing break playing Fortnite in the evening, balancing job duties with downtime. While I can be a picky eater, I make the best of my meals, cooking favorite dishes like mac and cheese for my boyfriend when he visits. Finally, my RA duties kick in during the night, requiring me to ensure everything runs smoothly in the dorms. This entails walking around with a fellow RA for a couple of hours, checking in on residents, and addressing their concerns. It’s rewarding work, but by 12:00 AM, I’m ready to crash, falling asleep with my loved ones nearby, content after a fulfilling day.
