Everything was going perfectly… until I realized I forgot to switch my app from treadmill mode to outdoor. 🤦🏾‍♀️😂

Today’s run was powered by @joinkyde their 30 Miles in 30 Days Challenge! 🏃🏾‍♀️🩷

I felt GREAT today. The legs were fresh, my pace felt strong, and I was ready to knock out a 5K…

…then I looked down and realized Kyde was still set to treadmill mode, so it only tracked the last mile. 😭😂

User error. Lesson learned. From now on, I’m double-checking my workout mode before I hit start. 🤣

If you’re looking for a fun challenge this month, download Kyde and use my code MALAYSIA for a 14-day free trial. Let’s see how many miles we can put in together this August! 💪🏾🩷

Also… tell me I’m not the only runner who’s forgotten to start a watch, paused a run by accident, or had a GPS fail. Please make me feel better. 😂👇🏾

Read moreParticipating in fitness challenges like Kyde's 30 Miles in 30 Days is an incredible way to stay motivated and accountable, but it's easy to make small errors—like forgetting to switch modes—that can impact your tracking and performance analysis. From my experience, double-checking your app's mode before you start running can save a lot of frustration. For instance, setting your tracker to treadmill mode instead of outdoor can result in missing distance data, which happened to me during a recent 5K attempt. This user error was a good reminder that tech tools are only as effective as the habits we build around them. Another tip is to keep your device fully updated and explore app features like auto-pause, live GPS tracking, and in-run notifications. These can enhance your awareness and prevent accidental pauses or missed runs. Sharing my mishaps also reminds me that many runners face similar issues—whether it's a forgotten start, GPS dropout, or simply pressing pause unintentionally. Communities like #RunTok and #HerPaceMatters help runners connect, share these relatable moments, and support each other during challenges. I also found that pairing my runs with the right gear, like Nike Vomero Plus shoes, added comfort and performance support. Having reliable shoes boosted my confidence during runs even when the tracker slips occurred. For anyone considering joining a running challenge or using a new app, start gradually, familiarize yourself with the app settings, and join online support groups. Using referral codes like MALAYSIA for Kyde’s free trial is a great way to test the app and connect with fellow runners aiming for similar goals. Most importantly, enjoy your runs! Sometimes the best lessons come from unexpected tech glitches and the perseverance to keep going, no matter what your tracker says.
