Location:Canyonlands National Park

Did you know that there are technically two parks in Canyonlands. The needles, this lower level explores the park in the Canyon. The Island in the Sky explores the park from the top of the canyons. We explored the Island in the Sky and it was quite stunning!

⭐️ Rating: 8/10

📝Description/Tips: located outside of Moab, Utah and right next to Arches, this park offers a lot of hiking, scenic views, and dark night skies for stunning star gazing at night.

I highly recommend staying for a Ranger led tour of the night skies. This park is in total darkness at night with 0 light pollution lending to spectacular views of the night skies.

✨ Pros: Don’t forget to participate in the Junior Ranger Program! It’s free and for any age. The program has you do activities in a book that activity teach you about the park. Once you’re done, you get to be sworn in and receive a badge!

Canyonlands National Park offers an extraordinary experience for nature enthusiasts and stargazers alike. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a casual visitor, bringing plenty of water is essential, especially during warmer months, as recommended in travel tips. If you’re visiting, don’t miss the visitor center which closes at 4 PM—plan your activities accordingly to maximize your time in the park. The White Rim Road, accessible at sunset, offers some of the most dramatic landscapes for photography and sightseeing. These natural wonders paired with the park’s remarkably dark night skies create perfect conditions for star gazing. Joining a ranger-led night sky tour is highly encouraged. With zero light pollution, the views of stars, planets, and the Milky Way become spectacular and educational. This unique experience enhances appreciation of the vastness of the universe and offers memorable moments. Families and visitors of any age can participate in the Junior Ranger Program. This engaging educational activity guides you through the park’s ecology and history via a series of fun tasks. Upon completing the activities, participants are sworn in and awarded a Junior Ranger badge, making it an enriching and rewarding experience. how do we not talk about this national park more!?

Ok ok, I know Olympic National Park is fairly well known, but the fact that it’s not in most people’s top three national park list is an absolute CRIME! Don’t get me wrong, I love Yellowstone and The Grand Canyon, but you will never get as much biodiversity in one place as Olympic National Park.

Absolutely spoiled rotten with these views!! We travelled the Banff, Albert, Canada at the beginning of July. We had the best times and the amazing views are endless!!! First few photos are from the MUST-DO hike at Lake Louise called Little Beehive. This was by far our favorite view of the trip.
