30 Hard - Day 15
not pictured for food: protein drink post work out, some tru fru strawberries, and a small serving of Reeses puffs.
Half way through this challenge and I think I need to revamp a few rules for myself.
working a retail management job of over 9 hours per shift without a consistent schedule is making this a little too challenging. my days off im just very exhausted.
also caved and had a glass of wine. but no shame, I went 2 full weeks not alcohol.

Taking part in a demanding challenge like 30 Hard truly tests both physical endurance and mental resilience, especially when juggling a hectic retail management job with unpredictable hours. From my experience, one crucial strategy is to allow flexibility within your goals. For instance, Mallory mentions revamping her rules and acknowledging how exhausting long shifts can be, which is important to avoid burnout. In terms of nutrition during such challenges, I found that combining high-protein snacks, like protein shakes and fruit, with occasional enjoyable treats like a small serving of Reese's Puffs or a glass of wine helps maintain balance and prevents feelings of deprivation. Consistency matters more than perfection, and Mallory’s two weeks of sobriety before having a glass of wine reflect a commendable commitment that doesn’t need to be all or nothing. Hydration also plays a critical role; the OCR content hints at consuming over 80 ounces of water per day, which is excellent for recovery and energy. Supplementing with creatine, collagen, multivitamins, and magnesium can support muscle strength, joint health, and overall wellness, especially during intense workout phases like lower body strength days. Finally, incorporating realistic workout plans such as leg day sessions around a demanding schedule helps sustain motivation. Tracking progress with steps, macros, and exercise duration provides tangible milestones. For anyone balancing work, motherhood, and fitness—as tagged with #workingmom—prioritizing self-care while adapting challenges to personal circumstances makes fitness journeys more sustainable and rewarding.
