Last warning…you don’t have to read the caption you can just argue amongst your bird nerd selves in the comments just saying.

Anyway, I had no idea there were so many scrub Jay variations. I also had no idea they were such BIG birds. The Island Scrub Jay is the biggest of the set but even the smaller ones surprised me.

Deciding to paint the birds to scale was the best decision I’ve ever made. Especially since my life does not allow me to go see most of these creatures in person it’s an excellent way to feel as close as possible to these darlings.

Maybe one day I’ll get noticed by one of those fancy brands that will send me on a birding excursion…maybe one day.
