Working out on days you donโ€™t feeeel like it

๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟCarve out time to sit with yourself and see what you need for today ahead of time. You may have to accept that not all days will be like today and honor according to what may work best for you.

Maybe mediating at the start of your day or right before jumping into your usual routine can clarify todayโ€™s needs and ways to achieve that.๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

A lot of times we may not be all there mentally and sometimes this can be a signal to listen to what our body needs or just one of those days when we need an extra push. Give yourself grace and know that you donโ€™t have to be so hard on yourself.

Ground yourself and make the best decision for today.

Overall, my hot take on this is not so black and white. I donโ€™t believe you should hurt yourself dragging yourself to the gym if you arenโ€™t properly hydrated and rested, risk for injury and not having proper form or adequate reps, you might as well try to do a light session or take a walk somewhere to get your mind off stressing to exercise.

However, there are times youโ€™re just psyching yourself out and can definitely push yourself to go. A lot of times group workouts like taking a group exercise class can help give you that extra push on days you canโ€™t get yourself to do your usual solo work out or asking a friend if theyโ€™d like to join you.

Knowing the difference of if todays the day to push yourself or not and being in tune with what your body needs can result to better decision making if this is the day to go light/skip or if this is the day to take your time and get your butt to the gym. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

... Read moreOn challenging days when working out feels tough, it's crucial to embrace self-care and understand your body's signals. Start by assessing your energy levels and consider incorporating mindfulness techniques such as meditation. A brief meditation session can help clarify your physical and mental needs for the day. Staying hydrated and well-rested is vital, as exercising without proper energy can lead to injuries. If you find yourself feeling mentally drained, give yourself permission to take it easyโ€”perhaps with a light workout or restorative activities like a gentle walk outdoors. Group workouts can also provide the motivation you need on low-energy days, fostering a supportive community. Many people find that engaging in a fun group class makes exercise more enjoyable and less daunting. Ultimately, learning to differentiate between days to push through and days to rest is essential for long-term fitness success. Listen to your body and prioritize your overall well-being to create a sustainable workout routine.
