Motherhood low income- Mom Guilt?

This is me being open. Open to share that I feel like I never feel like I’m doing enough for my child. Because I’m always worried about money. Open to share that I’m physically here but mentally not. Because I’m always worried about money. Open to share that I don’t feel as though I’m meeting my goals. Because I’m always worried about money. Apart of me feels like I’m just a mom and an employee and not “me”. Is this just motherhood for lower income moms?

The feelings of inadequacy can stem from financial instability, which affects self-esteem and parental satisfaction. Studies suggest that low-income mothers may worry more about what they can provide for their children, often feeling they fall short compared to others. Community support can be crucial for these mothers. Online forums, parenting groups, and social media communities provide a space for sharing feelings of guilt and finding solidarity in shared experiences. Engaging with similar individuals can also open up avenues for creating strategies to cope with financial worries and maintain a sense of self. Additionally, seeking professional support through counseling may offer tools to manage these guilty feelings effectively. It's essential to acknowledge that having the label of 'mom' doesn't diminish one's identity. Balancing motherhood and personal aspirations is a journey, and it's perfectly normal to seek help and understanding from others who face similar struggles. The key takeaway is that every mother's journey is unique, and embracing one’s own experience—journeying through motherhood, even in lower-income brackets—can lead to a more fulfilling life. Let's share our stories, support each other, and redefine success in motherhood together.
