Quick and easy Carne asada fries

This is the easiest way I have ever prepared this meal. It was delicious and perfect for a busy weeknight! With summer almost here, our weeknights have gotten busier, so we love a quick and easy meal.

You'll need:

● 1 package La Herencia Carne asada

● 1 bag of frozen French fries, I used crinkle cut

● 1 cup of cubed Velveeta

● 1/4 cup milk

*optional toppings-sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, hot sauce, jalapeños, salsa, onion*

1.) Preheat oven to temperature on the french fry bag. Lay out a single layer of fries. Cook as directed on the bag.

2.) Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook Carne asada for 4 minutes covered.

3.) Flip and continue to cook for 3 additional minutes covered, or until the internal temperature is 145° fahrenheit.

4.) Remove from heat and let rest for 3 minutes.

5.) While the meat rests cube up 1 cup of Velveeta. Add in 1/4 cup of milk and melt the cheese in the microwave in 30-second increments. Can be done on the stove as well. If so, do stir frequently. This may be a bit of a thicker sauce for you, so add milk as you desire.

6.) Fries should be done about this time. On a plate layer fries, Carne asada, cheese, and your desired toppings.

If you try this and love it, let me know in the comments.

... Read moreCarne asada fries are a delectable fusion of crunchy fries topped with savory carne asada and gooey melted cheese. This popular dish is an ideal option for a quick dinner or a late-night snack and often serves as a crowd-pleaser at gatherings or parties. The key to making perfect carne asada fries lies in using high-quality carne asada, which should be marinated to enhance its flavor profile. You can utilize traditional marinades that include lime juice, garlic, and spices or experiment with your unique blend. Once the carne asada is cooked to perfection, it provides a wonderful contrast to the crispy fries. While we used Velveeta in this recipe, feel free to explore other cheese options like cheddar, pepper jack, or a Mexican cheese blend. For an even creamier topping, consider adding a layer of nacho cheese sauce on top of the fries. Don't forget about toppings! Traditional toppings include sour cream, guacamole, and salsa, but you can also get creative with jalapeños for a spicy kick or fresh tomatoes and onions for a refreshing crunch. This dish can easily be adjusted to suit your dietary needs as well. For a vegetarian twist, replace carne asada with sautéed vegetables or use a plant-based protein instead. For healthier alternatives, opt for baked fries or sweet potato fries. Whether it's for a cozy night in or a festive gathering, carne asada fries are a versatile and satisfying choice that everyone will love!
